2000 Bimota DB4 Tri Colore. This was purchased from the Wisconsin motorcycle museum where it was on display for many years. Belt service and LOF just performed at Moto Motivo. New Bridgestone Battleax tires and Oberon slave cylinder recently replaced. This is a very rare piece and will not be easy to find in this condition. I have taken very good care of this bike for about 2 years. Always garaged and covered on a battery tender and exercised every 6 weeks. Factory installed race kit – includes 39mm Keihin flat side carburetors with K&N pods, slipper clutch, full titanium Moto Corse exhaust, upgraded Brembo GP levers and master cylinders, Oberon slave cylinder, Ohlins rear shock and multi adjustable rear sets. I bought this bike new and have installed all the upgrades and done all the maintenance on it since new. Bike has 6572 miles on it as of this posting, I do still ride it a little bit but I am selling it to fund my overseas racing adventures. It has the Moto-Point Performance Kit on it that consists of a handmade Corse Ti exhaust, Kei-Hin FCR Flat Slide Carbs, Air Filters, New Fuel Tank, Oil Cooler Lines, All Stainless Brake & Clutch Lines, and a few other little bits. All stock parts have been retained as you can see in the photos and come with the bike. I also installed a Ducati Corse Carbon open clutch cover and sprocket cover. It runs well and is a blast to ride, also sounds amazing! Also included in the sale of the bike is the factory service and parts manuals along with other Bimota Enthusiasts papers all receipts and other paperwork as seen in the photos. Installed new timing belts and spark plugs in 2013, have changed the oil and filter every year since I bought it using only factory OEM Ducati oil filters and Golden Spectro 20w50 oil. At the time that I purchased this bike about 16 years ago I bought it directly from the importer they told me that only imported 5 of the 2000 model year DB4's so this is a rare bike indeed. The ultimate expression of the experience of Bimota: an effective and powerful engine, wrapped in a chassis built with the best components and the most sought technologies. But the heart is the composite trellis frame that joins the CNC aluminum swingarm, formed by five components and completely welded by hand. The result is an efficient bike, agile between the curbs and very fast on straights. A masterpiece of engineering, from Bimota technicians who possess more than four decades of experience producing good works. The hull is completely in carbon; made in a single component, to the benefit of the cleaner aesthetics and the sportiness of the bike. To draw its lines was not enough the designers' work: a long search in the wind tunnel has allowed to draw a motorcycle with the maximum aerodynamic efficiency. All in carbon is also the codon, connected to the frame without the need for any supporting sub frame; a solution that allows to lighten the BB3 and to remove weight aloft by lowering the barycentre, to the benefit of agility. The braking system is of strict derivation from the world of racing and signed by Brembo: in the front, monoblock calipers and 320mm discs. The Bimota Delirio project had been born even before its supersport counterpart, the DB5, was completed. The esthetics and function-driven design of the DB5's bare chassis did not only suggest but demanded the creation of a naked bike.The process of designing the DB6 was bound to go far beyond just re-designing the DB5. Having identified the trellis frame, swing arm, and fork as the basis of the new motorcycle, we started all over again.The finished design had to be distinctively different, setting the DB6 uniquely apart from all naked bikes on the market. A Bimota has always been immediately recognizable, today following the path set by Sergio Robbiano, proven by the success of the DB5, defined by low weight, esthetic proportions, and outstanding performance.The challenge creating a naked bike is the balance between engineering necessity and design esthetics. The DB6 displays in a unique way the care that went into hiding essential functional auxiliary parts from plain view, directing attention to the most prestigious elements of the motorcycle.
