The unrivalled performance of the lightweight 2-stroke engine makes it a true contender against the more complex 4-strokes. For MY 2016 the 250 XC features detail improvements and new colors and graphics, but basically retains the same chassis and engine specification as MY 2015. Features May Include: ENGINE The powerful KTM 250 XC engine unites an unbeatable power-to-weight ratio with outstanding performance and extremely easy handling. CLUTCH The KTM DDS (Damped Diaphragm Steel) clutch is fitted with a diaphragm spring, which allows implementation of an internal rubber damping system. Together with a lightweight steel basket and the Brembo hydraulic system the DDS clutch offers maximum reliability, excellent modulation and light lever pull. CYLINDER The cylinder of the 250 XC is fitted with a sophisticated TVC (Twin Valve Control) power valve, providing adjustable power characteristics. The power character can be changed within a few seconds thanks to two supplied springs for different tracks and rider preference. LINKAGE/SHOCKABSORBER The linkage system of the 250 XC features a progressive curve with a high initial rate ensuring good stability. The high-end WP 5018 shock absorber guarantees outstanding response and damping characteristics. Compression and rebound damping can be adjusted to the track conditions and the rider's preferences. FRAME The modern frame design of the 250 XC, comprised of lightweight, high strength, chrome-molybdenum steel section tubes, combines maximum longitudinal stiffness with optimum torsional stiffness. HANDLEBAR The 250 XC is equipped with a tapered handlebar made of high-strength aluminum by NEKEN, which is fixed in a new rubber damped handlebar clamp allowing the handlebar to be mounted in two different positions. A new, larger handlebar pad protects the rider in case of a crash. BODYWORK KTM engineers have focused on designing the bodywork ergonomically and functionally in such a way that the whole motorcycle is in perfect harmony with the rider down to the very last detail. The front fender is a perfect example of how molded plastic components can gain maximum stability with a well thought out structure. WHEELS The 250 XC is fitted with lightweight, CNC-machined hubs, high-end Giant rims and black spokes with lightweight aluminum nipples providing maximum stability at minimum weight. The latest Dunlop Geomax AT81 tires guarantee perfect traction and outstanding performance. BRAKES

Features May Include: OPTIMISED ENGINE The powerful KTM 250 XC-W engine fitted with 6-speed transmission and electric starter unites an unbeatable 2-Stroke power-to-weight ratio with outstanding performance and responsive handling. HANDLEBAR All XC-W models are fitted with super strong, tapered Neken handlebars made of high tensile aluminum alloy that can be mounted in four positions. Standard equipment hand guards made of a new 2-component polymer for durability and effective hand protection. AIRBOX The air filter can be quickly replaced without the use of any tools, thanks to an ingenious airbox design guarantees optimum filter protection from flying dirt while creating maximum airflow for high performance. The airbox covers are manufactured in a 2-component process with in-mold graphics. In addition, two extra flaps on the left cover allow it to be secured with bolts if desired. SUSPENSION/DAMPING The KTM 250 XC-W is fitted with a new front fork featuring newly designed fork boots with shorter offset, increased trail and a new suspension settings, optimally tuned to weight and engine. In addition, the fork features new fork guards allowing for easier cleaning. At the rear, a PDS shock absorber from WP Suspension works with a direct linkage to the upper side of the swingarm. A wide range of setting options for rebound damping and high- and low-speed compression damping are standard and can be adjusted to suit racing and trail conditions. FRAME The modern frame design of the 250 XC-W, comprising lightweight, high strength, chrome-molybdenum steel section tubes, combines maximum longitudinal stiffness with optimum torsional stiffness. This guarantees easy handling and precise steering behavior, as well as excellent ride stability. It clearly represents the benchmark in terms of weight and stability. Thanks to the frame design and the rear PDS damping system, impacts at the rear wheel are absorbed and dissipated optimally. For 2016 the frame is protected by a new, robust skidplate.
