1980 Yamaha XS850 Midnight Special, Midnight Special!! The Yamaha XS 850 Midnight Special was a line of motorcycles produced by the Yamaha from 1976 to 1981, {This one is a 1980}, for the worldwide motorcycle market. The Midnight Special has the gloss black, and Gold treatment, this gave it a one of a kind, head turning look! This bike received rave reviews in Cycle World, who called it a "Bargain BMW" and rated it one of their top 10 bikes in the world. The Yamaha factory "special" is the fore fathers of the modern day cruiser. The feeling of a three-banger comes from the dual life it leads. It tries to blend the torque of a twin with the fast revving horsepower of an in-line four and in my opinion does an all right job of it. The XS850 is a strong running right off the line and makes a good amount of power through its rev range. Not to say that it's a tire shredding beast, but rather a competent motor for hauling around a rider or two and their gear. This one came to us as a trade in. We have serviced it, It has like new tires on it, both the front, and the rear! The seat has had a recover job done on it and a good job was done. Good basic transportation, give us a call!!! Classic 1980 Yamaha XS 850 PLUS TRAILER for sale!!! Clean titles for both. Really nice and easy project motorcycle. It only needs tires and gas tank latch and it will drive away!! The Yamaha XS750 and XS850 both utilized 3 cylinder engines (triples) produced from 1977-1981. The 826cc replacement for the XS750 was a very similar beast just with bigger barrels and pistons, a beefier crankshaft, a wider primary chain, better oil ways and the addition of an oil cooler. Also added were frame improvements including a new swing arm mounting and alloy footrest carriers. This particular example has been completely customized and was turned into to a Café Racer during the process. It started as a clean bike in perfect running order with just over 16,500 miles. It has since been completely customized and every mechanical part has been rebuilt or replaced. Not only that but everything has been powder coated or painted with the exception of a couple of chrome items. All said and done this is one of the sweetest looking Café Racers you will find at a price that is affordable. Bought from original owner, comes with original 1980 owners manual as well as original tags if you wish to reapply them. Bike runs in great condition, Electrical starter functions with no issues, have never had to utilize the kick start (which is a rare feature). 1981 Yamaha XS 850. Beautiful unrestored perfect example of an XS 850 that is not only hard to find but almost impossible to find in this condition!! Absolutely nothing wrong with this motorcycle. Runs and drives like it is truly brand new. All gauges work. Radio works perfectly. Shifts smoothly and feels solid and true going down the road. I've taken all sorts of photos. This is a Classic Yamaha Triple, it only has 9882 miles, which is incredibly low for a bike of this age. This bike needs nothing mechanically and runs and rides amazing. It is 850cc of pure fun, as comfortable as a cruiser on the highway, as responsive and quick as a sportbike in the twisties. This is the Midnight special edition with black and gold everything, all the emblems are intact and all the trim is in great shape. Price is negotiable it is just a starting point, I would also be interested in a trade for something else on 2 wheels just let me know what you have.

I got this bike last year and only rhode it a handful of times. Since owning it I put new handle bars on it, bar end mirrors, new grips and new turn signals. I do still have the original bars mirrors and turn signals. Also the bike came with bags which aren't currently on the bike. I would like to make it known that the bikes has extremely clean chrome as well as paint for its age. The bike also has barely used tires on it. Bike runs and drives fine.

1980 Yamaha XS850SG Special.Bike is basically stock, in very good riding condition with the exception of the improvements listed below. It is 36 years old so there are a few nicks here and there.Replaced Carb intake boots.Uni reusable air filter.Replaced fuse box with separate, single water proof automotive style blade fuse holders.Paragon Stainless steel brake lines.TKAT fork brace.Progressive fork springs.Original "Buckhorn" handle bars will be included.New rear tire last season, front probably has another season or so left in it.Also have an adjustable backrest with rack that will be included.Haynes manual included.Bike runs and rides out well. Has been my daily rider for the last 10 years. Approx. 27,000 miles.Clean Ohio title in hand.Plenty of summer left - just get on and ride.

Owned bike for 8 years, hasn't been ridden in approximately 5. Stored in a garage and started periodically to set out side for sale. Will likely need a full tune up, tightening cables, carb adjustment, etc. Electric starter and kick start present. Brakes will need to be checked and bled, possibly new pads. Have various part to go with the bike as well as the original air box. Recently performed engine oil and filter change, both mid and final drive oil change, new spark plugs to prep for sale this year (done in june)

1980 Yamaha Xs850 SG, The bike has always been stored inside and has been well maintained. Runs well, has to fix crusty brakes. Ready to go and to enjoy this summer once the brakes are fixed.
