Amazingly clean and mechanically tight un-restored, original RD-250. "Survivor" is an understatement. The paint on the tank, side covers, frame are really unique (show room quality comes to mind, no fading whatsoever, graphics are perfect). And the chrome is truly special. Of course the frame and engine VINs match. I've looked at a lot of RD250's, RD350's and RD400's (and DS7's) from 1971-1976 and I have not found one as clean as this one. This bike starts right up and sounds great. The oil injection works flawlessly and does not smoke at all (only using Yamalube of course). The clutch and six speed transmission both work like you drove it off the showroom floor in 1974. All electronics work to perfection (horn, signals, displays, lights). The only items that are not original on this bike are the battery, tires, and handlebars. Hagarty's and NADA value these bikes in the 4-5K range if they are "excellent" in condition for what that's worth (probably not much since bikes this old have to be evaluated individually). For an un-restored motorcycle, I would have to rate this one as excellent. Odometer is currently at 3,900 miles. If you're very interested in an unmolested (i.e., not "cafe'd" by the younger crowd) RD-250, this is worth a look. No trades. And please don't email me an offer of $2,000 (I still enjoy riding it). Exceptional collector quality. Currently not running. Needs battery/battery cable and to be gone thru as it has been sitting for sometime now. Ran great when last used. One owner, garaged, under 4000 miles, new tires. Rare find in this year. Make offer.

As seen on 1973 Yamaha RD250 Beautiful condition with 2 new tires, original paint, upholstery and chrome. Small battery acid spill on the left exhaust and very light pitting on the taillight. 1975 Yamaha RD250B This is a good condition, fully functioning Yamaha RD250 air-cooled, oil injected two stroke. The bike rides very well. It has had multiple owners over the years. Our dealership recently performed tune up services and checked the machine over prior to sale. The bike has just under 5,000 original miles on it, with a clear IL title. Clubman style café bars and a bubble shield have been added. Here is a breakdown of the bikes condition:The Good:-Recently serviced by certified Yamaha technicians. Performed tune-up services including carb synch, plugs, ignition timing adjustment, injector oil change, trans oil change, general check over. Performed front brake system rebuild, caliper seals, fluid and master cylinder. -Runs excellent, fires up first kick, carburetors and intake are tuned properly. -Shifts through 6-speed transmission well.-Oil injection works well-Electrical all functions, battery is newer-Spokes all there, tightened. -No rust holes in exhaust-Seat in perfect condition-Clutch not worn out-Tank is clean inside-Fork sliders rust free-Has great compressionThe Bad:-Slight oil leak from left side cover, leaves a nickel size spot over a few days-Tires are rather old, not cracked, but hard.-No rearview mirrors or turn signalsThe Ugly:-Has a few scratches-Slight pitting on lower fork tubes and wheel-Slight rust on swing-arm-Paint peeled away from fr. master cylinder For a 1975, the bike is in great shape. Obviously not a garage queen, nor is it a barn find. It's that in-between condition I like to call the seldom-ridden.
