1989 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4X4. Electric start, automatic 5-speed with Hi/Lo/Reverse. The Yamaha Big Bear has the reputation of being reliable and bulletproof. It’s been garaged for 12 years so it doesn’t have as many miles as its age might indicate. Its life has been utility transportation around a ranchette. It was not used for adventurous ATVing through streams, woods, rough terrain and such. Runs great, well maintained and has had the following work done for this sale:Crankcase & Transfer case oil changed with new filter. No leaks. Front & Rear differential gear oil changed. No leaks. The Yamaha YFZ-R1 is back in 2015 with everything inside the engine case new from the issues from previous years' models. The bore/stroke formula was modified (more oversquare) for increased top-end performance as the cylinders are offset toward the center of the crankshaft to reduce friction. Rocker-arms augment the shim-under-bucket valvetrain allowing for more aggressive camshaft profiles and the titanium connection rods were also installed. All told Yamaha YFZ-R1 claims the engine is 1.2 inches narrower at the crankshaft and nine pounds lighter than the 2014 model. Lastly, the six-speed transmission was revamped and is matched to a cable-actuated racing-style slipper clutch and electronic quickshifter.
