Nice unrestored 1968 R2-C 350 cc this bike still wears its original paint and is pretty much all original with the exception of a prior owner removing the exhaust baffles , and the side covers may have been redone but they match perfectly, it does have new tires & battery, The carbs were redone and it was serviced and gone over by an older factory trained Yamaha Mechanic after sitting for a while when I bought it , its not perfect but its rare to find a nice un-screwed with original like this one everything works the chrome is pretty nice and its ready to ride check out the attached you tube video Clear title and it can be registered as historic in most states without inspection , but it would probably pass a typical motorcycle inspection anyway ...the brakes , turn signals, horn brake light etc. tires all are good and in working order I don't think the missing baffles are even an issue , they aren't required in Maryland on older pre emissions bikes On Oct-06-15 at 15:02:36 PDT, seller added the following information: Youtube Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZsynG5AnwM&feature=youtu.be

Rare Find ! This is a very nice original survivor always garaged since new, original paint still looks good , it runs great has a new battery, tires, recent service, freshly rebuilt carbs , new fuel petcock. The fuel tank is clean inside and was never rusty inside , it does have some light pitting on the chrome sides of the tank but no dents. The rest of the chrome is still very nice the muffler pipes are in excellent shape It comes with a comes with a battery tender. This one really draws a lot of attention at bike shows and with local admirers when its out and about .... I have a new O.E.M . Yamaha rubber cable protector for the front fender the tabs on the old one dried out and it started coming loose recently as you can see in the video but I located and bought a new one for it . This is a very nice 1970 Yamaha R5 which is the first year for this race breed series of bikes that was known to easily out perform bikes of twice there displacement in their era . The R5 model evolved into the RD350 in 1973 when some updates were made but the bikes are very similar in overall performance and most of the major parts are interchangeable with the RD's. This bike was in pretty nice shape when I bought it, but it was professional repainted in the original color scheme, and the paint work quality is top notch The bike has had the top end of the motor freshen up with new gaskets and rings, the pistons and jugs were like new when inspected so they were just cleaned and NOS standard bore (OEM Yamaha) rings were installed with new gaskets while it was apart , the Clutch is new , transmission is fine with no signs of slop or excessive wear , new fluids and seals were installed , & the tires, tubes and battery are new. The rest of the bike was clean and polished the seat pan was sandblasted Epoxy painted and new repo seat foam and Quality OEM style cover (that matches the original vinyl grain) was installed. The speedometer cable was broken off in the speedo head when I got the bike and I could not get the broken cable out of the old speedo so the speedometer was replace with one I located in very good condition (nice chrome , face, lens, etc. ) but the mileage showing is not the actual miles on this bike. Based on the original speedo removed and what the prior owner knew about the bike the original mileage on the bike is likely around 12k , but most everything mechanical that mileage would relate to has been professionally inspected and serviced by an older Yamaha factory trained mechanic that did the work on the bike for me when I was restoring it. The bike starts easy & reliably and rides and performs as it should. This bike should provide years of reliable riding fun with reasonable care and maintenance everything works on it . I made a video with a link below so you can give it a virtual inspection, some additional detailing was done since the video was made and a nicer pair of original Yamaha passenger foot pegs were located & installed .
