SUMMARY OF OWNER'S REVIEWSOverall Rating › 4.3 out of 5Ride Quality & Brakes › 4.2 out of 5Engine › 4.2 out of 5Build Quality & Reliability› 4.5 out of 5Value & Running Costs› 4.5 out of 5Equipment › 4.1 out of 5WHAT THE PROS SAYRide Quality & Brakes4 out of 5The Yamaha FZ6 Fazer's handling is spot on due to a great new chassis, fat tyres, wide bars and good suspension (despite limited adjustment potential), giving the rider loads of feedback. The R6-derived brakes work well too. A heavy clutch, considerable play on the throttle and a need to work that (rather clunky) gearbox endlessly are a few, relatively minor, niggles. As is slightly snatchy fuel injection.Engine4 out of 5The new Yamaha FZ6 Fazer’s driven by a detuned R6 engine. Predictably, it offers plenty of powerful acceleration but has loads left at the top end: a little more detuning could boost the midrange a bit. The Yamaha FZ6 Fazer needs revving to hell and back to make it fully come to life but then since when was that a major disadvantage?Build Quality & Reliability4 out of 5With that engine and those brakes having been tried and tested on the R6, there’s not much to worry about there. Meanwhile, the build quality of the new Yamaha FZ6 Fazer's chassis and other bits and pieces look top notch.SPECIFICATIONSEngine size › 600ccEngine type › 16v inline four, 6 gearsFrame type › Aluminium twin beamFuel capacity › 19.4 litresSeat height › 795mmBike weight › 186kgFront brake › Twin 289mm discsRear brake › 245mm discFront tyre size› 120/70 x 17Rear tyre size› 180/55 x 17PERFORMANCEMax power › 90 bhpMax torque › 42 ft-lbTop speed › 141 mph1/4-mile acceleration› 11.6 secsFuel consumption› 42 mpg
I'm selling my FZ-6 only because I moved across the country and couldn't take it with me. It has about 25k miles on it and I am the second owner.I purchased this bike from Motorsports International in Auburn, MA back in the summer of 2014 and have taken care of it since. Oil/oil filter changes, chain/sprocket cleaning, new windshield. The PR4 tires have a thousand miles on them or so.The FZ-6 is a great all around bike. Perfect for riding in the city, in the mountains, or on the track. I started on a Kawasaki 250 and then moved up to this bike, and would recommend it as a first or second bike for anyone. Or a third bike, if you have the space. Mild mannered in the low RPMs, but happy to sprint once you rev it up a little bit. No issues whatsoever over the last few years.Couple notes:- The new windshield now has a tony track day sticker on it (they put it on at Palmer this summer...)- There is a little duct tape on the cowling holding down two wires: one is the standard plug in for a charger (currently hooked up to the batter) and one is a USB plug that has leads going to the battery but is not currently hooked up- The rear left turn signal has some duct tape on it, it shook a little loose but is fine.Despite the above, this bike is priced appropriately and I am not willing to drop the price. It's parked in my mothers garage so the logistics will be a little challenging, but it's covered and waiting for you. Call me to schedule a viewing! No test drives unless you put the money down up front with proof of motorcycle license and proper riding gear. The bike is currently located in North Attleboro, MA.
