1987 Yamaha FJ1200. 67,500 miles. $800 . She is a powerhouse bike with plenty of torque. Handles excellent! Really enjoyed riding her and it was a very dependable bike. Lots of years left in her with some basic tlc. Have the mechanics manual for it in print and CDROM format. Reference pics: (little dusty - I stored it under a parking roof) I repainted it in matte black beginning of last year. It has held up pretty well. I have plenty of the sealer, cleaner and UV protector still for it. Recent work done: front and rear tires, sprocket, chain, fuel pump & filter, fuel lines, rebuilt clutch and front brake master cylinders, Spare parts: Master Cylinder, Petcock, mirrors, seat vinyl (enough for 5+coverings), matte paint sealer etc, metric bolts, throttle cable, etc, Am getting rid of her for two reasons: I am getting ready to move and will be purchasing a new bike after that. I live in an apartment I cannot leave it apart and therefore have had a hard time trying to work on the bike. Her needs: Right front blinker needs a new seal. Easy fix. (water leaks in and blows the bulb)Front left fork seal started to leak a month ago. Easy fix and rideable in the interim. Gas gage. It is reading a signal as the needle moves but moves all over when in motion. I don’t think it is in the console it could be the sending signal. (I use the odometer reset to track my fuel consumption)Starts and runs but stalls and then cannot get it started again. Almost like it is flooded or not enough gas. I think the issue lies with the carburetor and they may need some new seals.
