ORIGINAL OWNER, TURN KEY 1972 Yamaha DS7 250 (5-speed, air-cooled, parallel twin, oil injected, two stroke). Wow what a NEAT bike! Here on consignment at GarageTRS, Asheville's premiere used motorcycle dealership specializing in vintage, off road, and unique motorcycles.This bike was bought brand new in 1972 by it's owner and has been extremely well maintained ever since. It is immediately obvious that this bike has been loved for it's entire life and only accumulated 7,466 Sunday/Funday miles. The bike starts first kick. Everything works as it should and the controls feel like butter, the drum breaks feel great and everything functions PERFECTLY. New tires/tubes and a professionally recovered seat to boot. Not a lick of rust on this guy. It truly appears to have been in a time capsule. The DS7 is extremely light weight, and fun for ANYONE to ride. These bike's were little gems in their day, and were the building blocks for Yamaha's 'RD' series which are famous for launching a thousand racing careers. I call this bike my "little buzzbomb" because it is such a fun little bike to get on and go!! I tell you once you get the RRRRs up there this thing is a total blast to ride. The bike always starts on the first kick and needs very little choke(warms up right away) I have been taking it to work everyday I can and look forward to every trip I take on her. I am not afraid to get on the highway either because once she gets going she cruises at 60 easily. This bike really only needs either a replacement seat or a nice repo seat cover to really finish it off. i did find a N.O.S seat for it for $500 but I just don't have the funds to buy it right now. I have seen and boughten some really nice reproduction seat covers right here on ebay before and the finished product looks fantastic. The bike tank does have some tiny dings in the black part of the paint on the right side and there are some little scratches from jacket zipper or such but the tank really looks very nice,and the emblems are not all fogged up like others I have seen. The inside of the tank litterly looks new!) The chrome on the bike is really nice and the exhaust pipes are dent free and rust free but the right side has some scratches deep enough to get a fingernail to catch them. The bike runs excellent and all electrics work perfect. The gauges are in fantastic condition. The front fender has some tiny dents in the very front that I believe could be dollied out by a paintless dent repair man. The bike is so easy to kick start that you do not miss the luxury of an electric start. The tires are in great shape and the bike rides very nice,I have had it up to 70 MPH and she held straight. The bike will leave a quarter size spot of oil on floor right by the centerstand if left overnight. I think it might be coming from the engine side cover bottom bolt,but I have never witnessed a drip so i cant be sure(might be coming from shifter shaft seal also) i just want to be totally honest about the condition of this very nice machine. I have a clear title and some connections for shipping. please check out my feedback on ebay and you will see many happy customers,because I am very honest and old school man of my word! I also have the original riders manual for the bike(how cool is that!!!)
