1964 Vespa 150 GL vin number VLAIT076848 LOCATED IN SOUTH AFRICA The scooter is all original, no rust, not repainted ( only touched up nicks and scratches) All licenses and registration are up to date. Original motor 18000 miles. All gauges,wiring, speedometer and lights are original. The restoration project entailed, besides a thorough cleaning the replacing of every piece of rubber, including tires. A cleaning of the tank, carburetor and a new fuel petcock. New piston and rings and clutch plates and a disassembly of all wheels brakes and moving parts, inspection, lubrication and replacement where necessary. It runs, shifts and handles as new. The lighting is also original and works as it did in 1964, which is not very well for night riding. The light intensity emitted is directly proportional to the engine RPM's. As it is a GL it has 10 inch wheels not the 8 inch wheels of the standard 150. The motor and transmission are the same as the units produced today (parts availability is excellent and very reasonable prices) except a little less power, the magneto and lighting ( which can be retro fitted at a reasonable price at the expense of being non original). All work was done by myself, as I was a Vespa dealer in the 70's and 80's. Reason for sale: live on a farm with a 3 km gravel road that continues to deteriorate. Price R68900.00
