The trademark 1050cc three-cylinder engine has been extensively reworked, with a total of 104 changes that are claimed to provide more power and torque while achieving 10 percent better fuel efficiency. Among those changes are a new crankshaft, an all-new cylinder head with revised combustion chambers, new pistons, and a ride-by-wire throttle assembly that allows the inclusion of five riding modes, plus switchable traction control and ABS. A slipper-assist clutch, smaller and more efficient radiator, and a freer-flowing exhaust that is claimed to flow 70 percent more than the previous unit are also part of the upgrades. A new ECU is part of the new electronics package that enables the inclusion of five riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Track, and a Rider Configurable mode that allows the rider to choose throttle response, TC, and ABS levels). Brembo monobloc calipers are standard, along with new styling that features a Daytona 675R-inspired tail section and revised radiator shrouds and mufflers.
