The Speed Triple mixes a monstrously powerful three-cylinder core with a top quality chassis and an aggressive, stripped-down stance. The gnarly character of the inline triple is intrinsic to the Speed Triple’s brutish charm. Its primal 1050 cc DOHC fuel-injected three-cylinder engine pumps out a great surge of bottom-end torque, followed by a massive mid-range punch and impressive level of overall power. Delivering power to the rear wheel is a slickshifting gearbox fitted with a remote gear change linkage and clutch fitted with a backlash eliminator gear. Crisp-edged engine cases and covers enhance the engine’s look, as does the absence of exterior hoses. Peak power is 128 bHP @ 9,100 rpm while peak torque of 78 lbs. ft. arrives at 5,100 rpm. A rigid aluminum frame contains the engine and provides massive strength with steering geometry that gives fast-steering neutrality plus great stability. The fully adjustable 43 mm upside down forks and rear monoshock – specifically developed for the Speed Triple – add superb levels of quality and compliance. Likewise, the pair of radial four-piston brake calipers and 320 mm floating discs provide cutting-edge stopping power and feel. The five-spoke wheels add style and substance, as does the evocative single-sided swingarm. Twin high-level oval-section exhaust pipes add to the engine’s distinctive – and addictive – induction roar. Though the Speed Triple’s muscular engine and chiseled chassis are impressive its sawn-off style, underscored with stainless steel and brushed aluminum parts, is impossible to ignore. Inspired by the short, cut-down look so popular on the streets of southern Europe the Speed Triple has the hooligan edge and minimalist appeal of a machine built entirely around its engine. Its heart and soul has struck a chord with riders all over world while its wide-ranging ability ensures outstanding performance in almost every situation, from urban commuting to hard-edged sports riding. The LED rear light unit and clear-lens turn signals complement the twin headlights, themselves very much part of the Speed Triple’s unique style. The instruments feature an analog Tachometer, programmable gear change lights, trip computer and digital speedo. Four paint options are available, Jet Black, Neon Blue, Fusion White and Scorched Yellow. A host of factory parts including a high-performance exhaust (for off road use only) cosmetic additions and custom-fit luggage are available from the Triumph accessories catalog. Since its original introduction in 1994 the Speed Triple has become a true two-wheeled icon. Delivering undiluted attitude and a unique presence on the road, it’s motorcycling in the most direct, most raw form available, and all the better for it.

2001 Triumph Speed Triple 509, excellent bike for sale - low miles for the year at 21xxx with recent service and brake pads. Runs and drives without any issues - very fast, lots of torque, and handles well. New bar end mirrors because the stock ones are terrible. Bike was down at low speed once, pic of damage on transmission cover (professionally welding back up and doesn't leak at all, or buy a new one for $80 on ebay) and some scratches on the tank from a bag. $3,000.00
