The 2.3 litre, three-cylinder engine is designed to be an arm-wrenching thrill to ride, yet easy and unintimidating too, despite its thunderous roar. Its sweet handling chassis, rigid frame and sophisticated suspension gives you the confidence to sweep through corners and change direction with an agility that belies this Roadsters size. The latest Rocket III features blackened components including radiator cowls, rear mudguard rails, airbox cover, fork protectors, and mirrors giving our Roadster an even more menacing look. There's nothing else like it out there, not to look at, nor to ride. Features May Include: Performance The capacity of the Rocket III Roadster is huge, 2,294cc, and with a gut churning 221Nm at just 2,750rpm it has more torque at idle than most superbikes at full chat! The latest engine is unrestricted thereby delivering its full strength in the first three gears giving it almighty punch. Configuration The three big cylinders are arranged lengthways along the bike to keep it manageably narrow and align the crankshaft with the shaft final drive, but to tame the reaction of the massive torque, the crankshaft counter-rotates so the bike stays steady when the throttle’s blipped. Shaft Drive With a shaft drive that needs no maintenance outside the scheduled service intervals, you have a roadster that’s so reliable, durable and engaging that you could even go touring on it. Frame We developed the big, tubular steel twin spine design to be strong and rigid enough to contain this powerhouse of a motor. But we focused on giving you an improbable level of agility too. Suspension We gave the front end sports-bike-style upside down forks 43mm in diameter so they’re strong enough to cope with all the forces a bike like this can deal out, yet with sophisticated internals so you get a plush, controlled ride. Wheels and Tyres The rear wheel diameter on the Rocket III is 16 inches to emphasise the fatness of the back tyre but to give you a more agile bike too. Brakes A bike like this needs a pair of vice-like, four-piston callipers. Gripping the 320mm discs and backed up by our advanced ABS system and a huge 316mm disc at the rear. ABS The advanced ABS brakes on the Rocket III Roaster are fitted as standard. This is a massive bike that comes with huge amounts of control. Instruments and Computer This is a premium flagship motorcycle so we equipped it accordingly. All the instruments are all there for you, fuel gauge, gear indicator, dual trip and clock in addition to the basic functions. Then there’s the signature massive twin headlights making a powerful style statement and lighting up the road ahead at night for safer riding. Frame We ve achieved exceptional strength and stiffness from a steel twin spine frame that includes the engine as an integral component. It s what makes the Rocket III Touring such an agile and engaging big bike to ride. Suspension Designed for long distance comfort. Chromed twin rear shocks and funky forks with chromed shrouds aren t there just to look pretty, they contain sophisticated damping components that give you outstanding wheel control in low urban speeds or enthusiastic cornering. Like new Triumph Rocket III touring, 1 owner, low miles (7305 miles), lots of extras including D&D SHO-N-GO chrome exhaust, Triumph performance map for aftermarket exhaust, taller windshield, Avon tires with only 1,300 miles on them (better handling) , backrests for rider and passenger. This bike was purchased brand new in July of 2011, and has always been garaged, as well as regular maintenance. The first scheduled service was done by the dealer, and the oil has been changed at 5,000 miles with 10w 40 Castrol 4T racing full synthetic. This bike blue books for almost $10,000, I am asking $8,200. Best touring bike on the market. Largest engine ever put in a motorcycle that produces 160 foot pounds of torque. I get compliments every time I ride it, everywhere I go. The D&D pipes sound great, enhancing the already cool sound of a triple. I am looking to sell quickly, all reasonable offers will be considered.

The Rocket III has carved a unique niche in the clone-like cruiser market and existsin a class all its own with its striking looks, stunning performance and incrediblespecification. But while it may be the largest capacity production motorcycle in theworld it’s designed first and foremost to be ridden. Good lock-to-lock movement, seamless fuel-injection and a low center of gravity combine to make low speedmaneuvering surprisingly easy, while the steering geometry and overall length give asecurely planted and confident feel. Added to this is generous ground clearance, making the Rocket III a truly useable machine that will tour highways, cruise streetsand hustle turns with effortless ability. The Rocket III is not only the world’s largest capacity production motorcycle; it’s also a bike without equal. Its unique, fuel-injected, triple cylinder engine has a cubiccapacity of 2,294 cc – that’s 140 cubic inches – and uses massive, 101.6 mmdiameter pistons. It makes 147 ft.lbs. of torque at 2,750 rpm. This incredible outputmeans even two-up the Rocket III accelerates incredibly hard without obvious effort, and relentless forward motion is just a slight twist of throttle away.Twin butterfly valves for each throttle body are used to give precise control over the engine and this set-up allows the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) to vary the mixture flow and ignition map dependent on gear selected and road speed. The torque curve is thus tailored specifically for each gear ratio. And the result is impressive – over 90 percent of the engine’s prodigious torque output is available at just 2,000 rpm, giving incredible levels of flexibility and making the five-speed gearbox (nearly) redundant. New for 2006 is the black finished engine. The Rocket III’s chassis, as you’d expect is something quite special. It centers on alarge tubular steel twin-spine frame, which houses the motor while maintenance-freeshaft drive lays power to the massive 240/50-section rear tire. The front brakes aresports bike specification – twin four-piston calipers mated with 320 mm floating discs– and provide awesome stopping power. The rear brake, developed by Bremboespecially, is a single twin caliper and 316 mm disc. The 43 mm upside down forks and twin rear shocks, built specifically for the RocketIII, add composure and supple compliance. This and the relaxed, comfortableergonomics allow the rider to take full advantage of the extended range provided bythe fuel-efficient engine and huge 6.3 gal US making the Rocket III a perfect tool forthose long, high-mileage days in the saddle. The ability to personalize the Rocket III was integral to the design philosophy and asthe bike went through its prototype stages so did the myriad of factory-approvedparts design
