What I have for sale is my 1976 Triumph Bonneville. I have owned this bike since May '89 and it is time for a new owner. This bike is an original paint, low milage, numbers matching machine. It has been about 10 years since it was on the road. I did kick the motor over on a regular basis, though. What I have recently done to get the bike road worthy is: new brake pads front/rear, new O ring kits in the calipers, new fork seals and fresh fork oil,new brake hoses front/rear, new stainless steel rear master cylinder, new Michelin Macadam 50 road tires, clean the fuel tank, and go through the carburetors. I have bought a new battery, but have not put acid in it at this time. I can charge or leave the battery as is for the new owner. After the aforementioned work, the bike started on the second kick, using a 12v battery from my security system. The negatives with the bike currently are the clutch plates are "sticky" from sitting. In the past all I had to do was work the tranny against the brake and the plates would separate. That worked this time as well, but in all likelihood the bike needs to be ridden a bit to clear that up. A repair was made to the seat rail where the right rear blinker attaches to the gusset on the seat rail. You can see this clearly in one of the photos. Sometime ago I purchased a better seat rail that I will include. The rear master cylinder could use bleeding again, as I feel the rear brake is still a bit spongy. The red stop/kill button has a piece of the button broken off, but still works as it should. The original paint is a little faded, as it should be for a bike of this age. I liked the bike with a bit of patina, as the saying goes; it is original only 1 time, restorations are endless. The electrics are original and work as they should. High/low beam on the head light, blinkers work, horn blows. If you have questions, fire away. The bike is located in Raleigh, NC. Shipping cost are the responsibility of the buyer, I will help with logistics if I can. I would expect $500.00 due at end of auction, the remainder to be paid prior to the bike leaving my premises. 4
