You will not be disappointed with this budget dune rider.The Yamaha YFZ350 is more commonly known as the 'Banshee' in the ATV community. It is the only twin-cylinder two-stroke ATV available. The Banshee was designed to be a high-performance racing ATV with no equals. The Banshee was introduced as a 1987 model and it continues to be the longest-offered high-performance ATV of all time. The Banshee has undergone, relatively, few evolutionary enhancements. Beginning in 1991, Yamaha improved the front suspension by incorporating a double wishbone design. Prior to 1991, the upper lateral arm of the front suspension was composed of, what was nicknamed, 'J-arms'. These J-arms represented a compromise between available space for the engine and strength of chassis. By slightly re-arranging the exhaust pipes, the upper wishbone design became possible. The easiest way to distinguish a Banshee's model year is by its colors. For the most part, Yamaha revised the colors of the Banshee almost on a yearly basis.The basic engine design of the Banshee was shared with Yamaha's RZ350 street bike. These two engines appear to be the same from the exterior, but differences in gear ratios, connecting rod lengths, and cylinders set them apart. Most notably, the RZ350 has the YPVS 'power valves' that was omitted from the Banshee engine.The Banshee remains, to this day, Yamaha’s greatest-powered ATV. The ltz400 is a great machine that fits a wide spectrum of riders from beginners to expert!Powering the 2005 Quadsport Z400 is a high performance398cc aluminum-alloy 90.0mm X 62.2mm, four-stroke, liquid cooled, DOHC single cylinder powerplant with four valves actuated by cam lobes riding directly on bucket tappets. The cylinder head features a narrow 28 degree included valve angle for a compact, efficient combustion chamber with a 11:3:1 compression ratio.Fuel is supplied by a 36mm Mikuni carburetor feeding 36mm intake valves, with exhaust leaving through 29mm exhaust valves. A dry sump lubrication system helps to create a more compact engine package. The aluminum-alloy cylinder is plated with Suzuki’s own race proven nickel phosphorus-sillicon-carbide coating, to reduce weight and improve heat transfer, allowing for tighter more efficient piston-to-cylinder clearance. A manual 5-speed transmission, with reverse gear transmits horsepower to the wheels, while a handy knob on the left front fender releases the reverse interlock to select the reverse gear with final drive transmitted through an O-ring sealed roller chain.The chassis features a lightweight, rigid, high-tensile steel alloy tube frame and sub-frame, along with an independent double-wishbone front suspension with preload adjustable coil over shocks.
