I am selling this car for my mother, it is her car. This car was begun by my step-father who unfortunately became ill before it was finished. A few of his friends, including an experienced mechanic, helped bring the car to its current state. I am a car/motorcycle/boat restorer myself however I was not personally involved in this restoration. Therefore I am evaluating the car as objectively as possible by what I can see for myself and the numerous pictures and receipts I have found. I also have a stack of pictures showing the car in its original condition when it was purchased and throughout the restoration. I estimate my step father spent well over 20K in hard costs on this restoration. It starts to add up fast...everything appears to be new or reconditioned on this car. Yeah, I know you never get your money back on a project like this...asking price reflects a deeply discounted estimate of this cars current and potential value when finished. You will have a truly excellent hot rod if you make the effort to take it to the finish line. What the car has: Fat Man Mustang II front end Chevy V8 crate motor Air Conditioning Sterio CD player New Everything: chrome, interior, rubber seals, glass, etc. etc. What the car needs: Custom exhaust fabricated and installed. Front end alignment. Typical "shake-down" & "break-in" associated with this kind of restoration. Paint. Looks great in the pictures but is far from show quality. Very difficult to capture flaws with this color, I recommend a re-spray. I strongly advise prospective buyers to come and view the car in person or have it evaluated by a local third party service. The car is for sale "as is" in Napa, CA. It can be driven only far enough to load it on a transport vehicle because it has no exhaust. We have a standing offer from a local collector, therefore all offers below 12,500 will be automatically declined. 1953 Kaiser Manhattan, body complete, straight, and all chrome there. Head turning widows peak windshield and all other glass there. Has rust in the floor by the A pillars and petina on the outside. The original Supersonic 226 flat head engine runs, idles fine but will not stay running when put into gear usually after about 3-5minutes,(vacuum leak(s)carburetor? ignition issue?, may need a ballast resistor for the coil not sure) It has good compression on all six 120 psi+, electronic distibutor so no points, changed over to 12 volt, alternator and bracket installed, 4 Speed Hydramatic transmission rebuilt in 2011, manual brakes worked ok but just recently blew out a front wheel cylinder while moving it into the back yard, tires new in 2011. I also have a universal 12 circuit wiring harness I never installed included in the deal. Seats, carpet and dash upholstery need to be redone. It has great history. This car is originally from San Diego and belonged to the Kaiser Frazer dealership owner in lemon grove (where the home depo is now), and still has the original liscence plate frames from the dealership. This is a great car to take to the next level of restoration or to make it a custom rod. I have the title and registration current. Asking $4,500 or best offer. Will need to tow at own expense

Rare 1953 Kaiser Manhattan 2 door. Automatic transmission model. Prior owner rebuilt the engine and transmission. Solid California black plate car. Easy restoration or basis for a custom car. We bought it and stored it for future restoration but our current restoration projects are taking longer than we anticipated so we are passing on this. Car starts right up and runs nicely. Last photos show a dent in the passenger fender that was caused by the idiotic transport driver missing the ramps as he drove the car off the truck when he delivered it to us, and wedged the car into his truck. We have not repaired it or done anything to the car since we have had it, so the passenger fender dent is still as shown in the photo. No chrome or trim was damaged and the hubcap is inside the car. Any trim you do not see in the photos should be inside the car. Interior framing is present but needs to be completely redone as original or custom. We will be out of town from Tuesday through Sunday and will not be able to answer emails or show the car during that time. Car is currently in Naples FL. This is a used 62 year old car sold as/ is, where/is with no warranties.
