I bought this in 2015 brand new and used it down my street 6 times. Not for me, so I am trying to get it out of the garage. It is basically brand new. I start it periodically to make sure the gas doesn't gunk up and it has gas treatment in it. The front tire went flat when I put too much air in it, so I am getting another tube to replace it. 1963 Daimler SP250. 4 speed manual. Original motor, trans, rear; the rest is mostly original. Most of you looking know the Daimler SP250 stats, history facts, & usuals. This car has had much done to it as can be seen in pictures. The last owner had it for about ten years (rarely used; sitting in his Minnisota property storage garage with his other collectibles). He lives in N.Y. full time. This is one of the "improved" models that Jaguar re-inforced (B & C series had their frames beefed up/strengthened starting in 1960 when Jaguar bought out Daimler). Dealers & owners changed various things to their liking in the period when these were new, or fairly new (bumpers, or no bumpers; whiskers; lights, & so on). It will need further tweaking due to the inoperative period in storage. All in all, partially amateur & professional restoration with a final driver friendly result. NEW items in the period of restore/revamps: water & fuel pumps; four wheel disk brakes & new suspension parts; interior (sealer paint & insulation [shown] installed under carpet); a new top (but got ripped upon install, now has a 6" repair patch at the bottom driver's side); paint (no fractures, cracks, or peeling); tires; chromes/emblems; etcetera (to many to list). New glass. Motor: Heads & valves were completely redone with valve seals installed-ported/polished (S250's did not originally have seals which would cause some oils smoke; the upgraded/modernized valve seals alleviates it). The small "rubber" top hoses were nicely done away with by custom *copper soldered* pipes. Cleaner & less leaking (can easily be replaced back to original rubber hoses). A new clutch, pressure plate & throw out bearing was installed before the motor was reinstalled. The frame was in excellent condition when the previous owner took the body off. He prepped, painted, & remounted the body with new required parts. The Hood closes flush (slightly open in picture). Doors/fenders, etcetera have good allignments & close as desired. Definitely needs emergency brake parts (note emergency brake handle is not installed & I do not have it). The left rear brake is locking up. I have a replacement kit to rebuild the wheel cylinder AND am leaving the emergency brake handle/sticky brake for the next owner to do. A Mr. John Carey supplies parts (& has the emergency brake handle/parts) & Daimler SP250 much knowledge he use to restore them); [email protected] Car comes with a parts supply resource CD; a Daimler SP250 illustrated hardcover details & history book(1 inch thick; sells for about $70 on Ebay) & a trunk full of parts. The car is finished as in the first 8 pictures. The remaining pictures was its restore/revamp process documentation. Email for questions & phone number. This bike is smooth riding and comfortable. It has a large seat for two people. It has an automatic transmission so it's easy and fun. All digital dash. 70 MPG. Highway legal. Will go 70+ MPH. It has two large rear locking trunks. The top one has a backrest for the passenger. AM FM 4 speaker Stereo. MP3 Connection. I recently purchased it and only drove it less than 100 miles. I am transferring up to Massachusetts and cannot take it with me.
