Typical XR Honda - starts right up even after months of being stored in the shed. Runs, idles, goes through the gears, just as it should. Modifications I've made to the bike: - Kawasaki KLX110 front forks...nothing too fancy about that. Just had the forks sitting around and thought it would be an interesting swap. - 1980 CR80 rear shocks...just like we used to do back in the day to our XR's. - "XR MiniRacer" Snake Pipe...makes a better sound than the stock pipe and looks trick. If you don't know who XR MiniRacer is, google his web site. The engine mounts are also a product from there. - CR125 side panels - I think they look better than the stock side panels - Uni Filter pod-style air filter...helps the engine breathe easier with the aftermarket pipe - I had the frame powdercoated and the tank repainted to give it more of a CR "racer" look - Engine was completely rebuilt and actually has very few miles on it. Like I was saying, my son outgrew it before he put many hours on it - The black paint you see on the engine is not just rattle-can heat paint. It's Gun Kote...which helps dissipate the heat from the engine. This is a great bike for a 7-10 year old beginner rider. That's why I built it, so my son could learn how to ride. He's just outgrown it. But if you know anything about these bikes, adults can ride them, too! Makes a great pit bike (we always had people coming up to check it out at the race track) or a bike for the wife/girlfriend to ride As far as delivery, I can probably deliver the bike within a 100 mile radius of Phoenix, Arizona. I have a 1997 cr500 with a 1988 cr500 engine. Clean title in hand. Brand new fmf powercore 2 pipe and silencer. Custom routed water line. Bikes runs flawless and usually starts on 3rd or 4th kick cold and 1st kick when warm (if you can get a good kick with the high compression). About 15 hours on new top end. I Only run 91 octane with klotz super techniplate synthetic oil. Has acerbis plastics with factory effex graphics. Uni air filter. Carburetor rebuilt 10 hours ago. Only thing that needs to be done is oil changed in gear case and wrap the exhaust due to the water line being close to the exhaust. 1970 Trackmaster Norton 750 Commando Desert Motocross Vintage custom buildTHIS IS A BUY IT NOW AUCTION Built back in 1970 and modified continuously throughout that decade, this bike was built by the son of a famous western movie star from the 1940's & 50's. Constructed here in Phoenix with no care given to the cost, hence no expenses were spared. Trackmaster oil-in-frame custom ordered & built for desert racing with long steering rake. Still sporting it's beautiful original nickel finish. Trackmaster is known for their highly sucessful flat track frames, and this was specifically built for MX & desert racing. Quite possibly the only desert spec Norton frame they ever built surely making it one of a kind. Also has it's custom built Trackmaster swingarm with dual shock positions.When I bought this bike from the original owner, he guesstimated that he had over $40K invested, and these were in 1970's dollars too. So you can only imagine what it might cost to try and replicate this bike today.......and that's if you could find these unobtainium parts. Engine is a 1970 Norton 750 Commando motor which was balanced & blueprinted w/extensive hi-po head & cylinder work. Norton 4 speed transmission - was totally blueprinted. Massey Ferguson points Magneto ignition. Custom built aluminum desert skid plate protects all vitals--see photos. Very rare vintage Hurst Airheart disc brakes w/stainless braided lines – front & rear (cutting edge trick for 1970). Leo St. Martin high seat w/ new velour seat cover. Steve Simons 38mm forks & triples w/custom valving & damping rods. Charles Curnutt long travel desert shocks were custom ordered and were then hand built by Charles. Buchanan built rear wheel. w/stainless heavy duty spokes. Dynamic Machine front & rear axles. Charlie Cavallo open megaphone dual exhaust (these are a work of art). 40mm Del Orto carburetor w/ K&N filter. Charlie Cavallo custom primary housing. 1974 Suzuki TM250 MX Restoredback to the way it was new,top end is 30 over, with a powder coated frame and misc. parts.the bike still has its original down pipe and pickle which is unheard of.new tires and tubes with very little time on them. spokes and everything else were polished, the seat cover is the original one and is in great shape except a small 1/4 inch tear on the right side lower part of seat, I just could not see replacing such a nice seat for such a small blemish.The bike starts right up first or second kick and runs perfect,. This bike has lots of new NOS parts.I like to take lots of close up pics so that the details of this Suzuki can be seen.
