1974 Dunstall Norton Commando 850. Freshly painted and matched to the original blue. The oil tank was rebuilt by CNW, (and they did their gear box cover polishing and seal modifications) A new, anti-sumping timing cover (MKIII) was sourced from Norvil. A new NOS master cylinder, and rebuilt wheel cylinder were installed, along with a Pazon electronic ignition and rebuilt Speedometer and tachometer. A new Dunstall 2-1-2 header system is installed. New chain and sprockets. New cables. New tires on what I believe to be the original Borriani Record Alloy rims. The center stand is correct as are the fork stops, rear sets. Almost all of the old parts were saved and come with the bike The engine and gearbox have matching numbers. The Norton Club of England has no record of this bike, although the bike seems to have been titled a “Dunstall” Clear Florida title. Side covers are not original. This Norton rides fine, and starts easily.

This ES2 was produced in December 1953 as a 1954 model and sent to the Indian Sales group in the US. Not much else is known until it was found in Western New York in the mid 1980’s. During the restoration of the black bike, its original blue color was discovered and re-established. Restored in the late 1990's. This is a matching numbers Norton (Transmission is also matching the factory record). NOC dating certificate will be included, along with some spares. From its original design in 1927, the ES2 was a steady seller for Norton. It was dependable, and easy to maintain, enjoying the nickname “Easy Two) Queen Elizabeth’s coronation was held in June of 1953 after the death of her father who reigned 15 years. It was major political event for the UK, and all parts of the British Empire. Her color was Wedgewood Blue, and most major British vehicle manufacturers offered various models painted in Blue to honor this major event. In 1953 Norton was acquired by AMC and the model range for Norton basically stood still. The 1953 re-designed 500cc ES2 with the new swing arm frame was carried into 1954.This Norton runs great and motors down the road very nicely.
