The bold character expressed in the nonconformist styling of the Griso is given further emphasis by the aggressive new black/silver color concept in a matte tone that flows elegantly with the numerous black painted metal elements such as the frame, wheels, steering plates, handlebar and instrument panel covers. “His power became greater in reality and in the minds of others.” This is a description of ‘Griso’, a character in ‘I promessi sposi’ by Alessandro Manzoni, one of the most famous works of Italian literature. In the book, Griso is a tough and fearless leader of the Bravi, and a man “who naturally undertook all the most daring enterprises”. This description could just as well be applied to the new Rosso Griso 8V SE, the most exciting and spirited of all Moto Guzzi models, designed to create a new, more intense concept of sports riding based on sheer power and four valve cylinder technology. Designed to respect a tradition that has lasted forty years, the new engine adopts the rational 90° transverse V twin layout but with 563 new parts, and introduces for the first time a single overhead cam valve timing and silent running Morse chains to operate the four valves per cylinder. 75% of this highly developed Moto Guzzi 1200cc engine has been modified compared to its predecessor, to produce 110 HP at only 7500 rpm and a maximum foot pounds of 80 foot pounds at 6400 rpm. 11,645 miles from new, in excellent shape both cosmetically and mechanically! This bike is CLEAN and has most of the goodies folks like to add to the Griso already installed like, rear rack, small windscreen and Agostini slip-on exhaust pretty much color matched to the bike! The 1200cc Griso is all the fun and great handdling of the 1100cc version but with 20 horsepower more pretty much from idle to redline. Unlike the 1100cc 2 valve motor the 1200cc 4 valve motor pulls eagerly to redline with a nice little spike or hit of power up top even.

For sale is a beautiful and rare original Moto Guzzi Griso 8V SE in the limited edition Tenni Green color, offered for only one year. Second owner, 12000 miles, never wrecked. It fell once at 0mph on an awkward driveway which scratched the muffler and broke the tip off of the clutch lever, but the muffler doesn't look bad (most people replace the muffler anyway) and the clutch lever is an easy and cheap fix and is completely usable as-is. Otherwise nearly perfect shape and it's been 100% reliable for me as a commuter, and still runs strong as new. Newish Pilot Road 4 tires have plenty of life. Serviced at D'Moto Powersports (formerly known as Ducati San Antonio) since I've owned it. Title in hand. Click any image below to view extremely large (25mp) photos for close inspection.
