Check out this 2008 Kawasaki ZG 1400 Concours . The original Concours hit the streets in 1986 and was a welcomed change to a very limited Sport Touring market . The ZG 1000 ran for 20 years virtually unchanged and was a great bike for its time but it definitely needed some updating . I n 2008 Kawasaki upped the ante with its second generation Concours and the new 1400 cc model was a game changer . The Gen 2 now had an aluminum monocoque frame with more Sport bike type handling , an inverted fork with adjustability , combined with a new driveline lash reducing Tetra-lever shaft drive also an adjustable rear shock to make the new Concours a high performance Super Sport Tourer . This bike can carve up the mountain roads as well as being comfortable on a long interstate journey and it's easy to pilot in traffic or in-town trips as well . It has a very neutral and balanced feel to it . I have ridden several Concours over the years and this bike will amaze you . It is agile and aggressive for a bigger bike and tracks effortlessly straight on the long stretches of highway . The performance on these bikes too . Hard hitting acceleration and ultra smooth cruising ability , the ZG rolls down the road at a mere 3000 rpm around highway speeds . The motor is derivede from Kawasaki's mega-fast ZX 1400 R , but this powerplant is tuned for more low-end and mid-range torque , where you need it on the street . The variable-valve timing setup produces high torque output in the low and mid rpm range and awesome top-end performance . The Concours 1400 makes a 155 HP and 103 ft. lbs. of torque , it is very rider friendly linear performance . The ZG has a 6-speed with a true Overdrive to move this smooth ride over the tarmac with ease . The bike provides excellent wind protection so you can ride all day long . Use the electonically adjustable windshield to set the proper height for your body , and the beautifully designed fairing does a great job of keeping the wind off of you . Packing up the bikes large , locking side cases and take off for a weekend or longer . They remove easily too , so you can carry them into your hotel room or your office when you ride this capable commuter to work . The brakes are fantastic , and round out the package of performance , handling and stopping power . This one is all stock , with the exception of a tall National Cycle V-Stream windshield and some strategically placed tank protection . This C 14 has only been ridden about 100 miles a month for the last 8 years , this bike is ready for some action . Beautiful to look at , and even more fun to ride .
