Purposeful beauty with a traditional cruiser and high tech blend. Technology is supposed to make life easier, not busier and ever more complex. Kawasaki’s new Vulcan® 1700 Classic cruiser employs the right amount of technology with a dose of old-fashioned simplicity to allow the rider to focus on the experience and not the machine. Its lighter, more compact frame holds a new engine utilizing a high-tech electronic throttle valve. Transferring the healthy torque output to the road is a new six-speed transmission with overdrive and super strong carbon fiber drive belt.

Swagger on the Open Road Cool, low, long, ultra stylish – all these adjectives fit the Vulcan® 1700 Vaquero™ plus one more – plenty functional. This bagger, introduced just last year into the Vulcan cruiser line, proves that practicality and cool can co-exist on the same bike. Its aggressive and muscular styling makes any Vaquero rider stand out from the crowd. And with a powerful 1,700 cc engine, electronic cruise control and full-featured audio system, the Vaquero begs to be taken out on the open road. Custom, blacked-out details are your first clue to the Vaquero’s mission, and there’s plenty to see. It all starts with the beautiful Candy Plasma Blue paint on the abbreviated fairing, sculpted tank and curvaceous bodywork that looks as if it could be a mile deep. The Special Edition takes it a step further with its Candy Lime Green with Ebony paint job and a custom marbleized paint graphic. Luxurious chrome accents (engine guards, exhaust, mirrors, etc.) provide a beautiful counterpoint to the glossy paintwork, but it’s perhaps the multi-textured blacked-out engine and chassis treatment that best highlights the Vaquero’s radical aesthetic look. The engine, air-cleaner cover, wheels, fork assembly and tank cover all get the black-out treatment, which gives the bike a true custom look that’s beautiful and menacing at once. It’s definitely not a motorcycle you’ll easily forget.

KAWASAKI VULCAN® 2000: TWO LITERS OF MUSCLE Kawasaki’s Vulcan® 2000 cruiser, heralded by media and owners alike as a perfect combination of power, style, and superb craftsmanship, has this year seen its popularity grow to encompass two additional “family” members – the Vulcan® 2000 Classic and the Vulcan® 2000 Classic LT. Matched with the original Vulcan 2000 and the Vulcan 2000 Limited, Kawasaki now offers four separate variations of this massive V-twin cruiser. Styling queues that put the Vulcan 2000 at the forefront of cruiser design include a powerful four-bulb, projector-type headlight encased in a signature chrome Nacelle headlight. Adding to its high-end status is the chrome instrument panel with its large-face speedometer; mounted on a stretched, 5.5-gallon fuel tank, the V-shaped panel keeps the rider informed with an LCD display and warning lamps. The bucket-type saddle with locking passenger seat complements the Vulcan 2000’s long, curving silhouette while providing all-day riding comfort. Power for these stylish cruisers come from a 125ci V-twin engine featuring a bore and stroke of 103mm x 123.2mm, forged pistons, alloy-steel connecting rods, huge 220mm flywheels, dual cams located within the one-piece crankcase and right-side pushrods actuating four valves per cylinder. Notably, Kawasaki engineers chose to utilize a push rod design in order to reduce engine height, which directly contributes to the Vulcan 2000’s low center of gravity and relatively low seat height. Plus, hydraulic valve lash adjusters automatically maintain zero valve clearance for smoother, quieter operation. Cruiser enthusiasts will appreciate the Vulcan 2000’s classic V-twin sound thanks, in part, to the single-pin crankshaft, while dual counter balancers and rubber engine mounts keep it running smoothly. To provide sharp throttle response at any rpm, the Vulcan 2000’s electronic engine control unit (ECU) manages electronic fuel injection with its dual 46mm throttle bodies and sub-throttle valves, as well as the iridium spark plug ignition system. The sub-throttle valves help provide the Vulcan 2000 with a smooth, linear power band, while the highly sophisticated fuel injection system’s fine atomizing injectors deliver an ultra-fine mist of fuel/air mixture to the cylinders for greater combustion efficiency, increased power and optimum fuel economy. The top quarter of the V-twin engine is liquid cooled, while temperatures for the bottom three-quarters of the engine are managed by stylish and highly functional cooling fins. Plus, the engine and transmission feature built-in oil and water pumps, with the transmission also serving as the oil tank. The fuel injection system’s air cleaner is nestled between the cylinders, which feature a black matte finish, and the cooli

Kawasaki, the brand that introduced the motocross world to perimeter frames and awe-inspiring powerbands, has unveiled an all-new flagship in its leading-edge KX™ motorcycle line. Every aspect of the 2006 KX450F, from its ultra-powerful four-stroke engine to the trick aluminum frame and suspension, reflects its purpose as a championship-winning race bike. Kawasaki engineers stressed every detail on the new, liquid-cooled, 449cc four-stroke engine to ensure that it provides maximum power and traction. Featuring double overhead cams, four valves and a Keihin FCR40 carburetor, it combines amazing acceleration with smooth over-rev capability so the rider can use very ounce of its incredible power on the racetrack. Hand-finished intake ports maximize intake efficiency, while lightweight titanium valves and aluminum valve retainers reduce reciprocating weight for reliable valve control at high rpm. Plus, double valve springs provide stable operation under intense racing conditions. To ensure quick and easy starting, the KX450F features both an automatic compression release and hot start system. The KX450F utilizes newly designed, high-capacity Denso radiators, which provide superior cooling under racing conditions. With its tightly packed radiator cores and new fin design, the new radiators improve heat dispersion for consistent engine power characteristics and dependability. The KX450F comes equipped with a tapered titanium exhaust pipe that expands in diameter from 38 to 41mm, contributing to its broad powerband, and the silencer features new, long-fiber packing. Kawasaki engineers have matched the high-tech engine to a new four-speed transmission. Combined with a manual, multi-disc wet clutch, the four-speed transmission enables the rider to take advantage of the engine’s inherently broad powerband on the racetrack; from accelerating out of turns to high-speed straights, the rider can use the KX450F’s precise throttle control to adjust speed nearly instantaneously. And to protect the underside of the engine and transmission, the KX450F comes with a lightweight aluminum skid place. The KX450F chassis has been designed to help the rider put the engine’s power to the ground. To do this, Kawasaki engineers combined their experience designing steel perimeter KX frames and techniques used to construct the Ninja® ZX™-10R sport bike chassis to create an all-new aluminum perimeter frame. Comprised of forged, extruded and cast aluminum parts, the strong twin-spar design gives the KX450F optimum balance of torsional and longitudinal rigidity.

1985 Kawasaki Kx 250, OK, I have decided that I need to sell my 1985 KX250. I think it needs to find a new home in someones garage who will enjoy her and not just let her sit. 1985 KX250 with a 1986 motor. Frame SN# JKAKXMD16GA004664 Motor SN# KX250DE004731 The good and the bad... Fresh rear brake pads with only about 10 minutes of use Rechromed shaft on rear shock and rebuilt shock (this was not cheap) Freshly installed used rear disc Replaced non functioning front brake setup with a working setup Replaced head gasket Replaced petcock valve New air filter element Brand new tires and tubes...nipples are still there Folding shift lever Replaced bent up rear brake lever New front brake lever New kick start lever Used expansion chamber and silencer New front chain guard Replaced cracking airboot with a good one Replaced severely damage rear chain guide New flat side carb 80 PSI compression cold with fuel turned off and carb drained I do have an extra foot peg for it. I do not have a title but am willing to go apply for replacement title Seat is a little beat up Seems to leak a little coolant from around coolant hoses. Hoses look good so I think I might have over tightened the clamps Bracket on the rear left cover needs re-welded to the frame Someone sealed air holes on the lid to the airbox. I unsealed them and installed little round UNI filters to pre-filter the air going in. Comes with everything pictured. The carbs include the original carb and some parts carbs. The top end gasket set is missing the head gasket as it has been installed. I originally bought the bike to chase the kids on their little bikes but don't find much time to ride so I really don't have any use for the bike but I don't need to sell it either. I am not interested in any trades as I already have all the toys I want, and then some. Re-chroming the shaft on the rear shock and rebuilding the shock came in somewhere in the neighborhood of $500. I didn't see the peeling chrome when I bought the bike. Counting only the rear shock, new tires/tubes and the new carb comes to over $ 1,000. I am located in Davenport, Iowa. I have tried to include everything that I could think of. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions. I did a VIN check today and it did come back clean. I am also checking with the local police to verify this. I will be happy to apply for replacement title. I would like to ask $ 1,050 for the bike but will be open to reasonable offers. If I don't get any interest in purchasing the bike then I will be open to parting her out. Will be happy to e-mail more pictures. Can also be seen at s:// /groups/162914207237521/?fref=nf $1,050.00
