This is a very nice older restoration 1915 Indian Big Twin 1000cc equipped with the very rare 1st year optioned electric lighting accessories and passenger seat and rack with 3 Speed Transmission. The 1915 Big twin marked the last Indian motorcycle to carry the original Hedstrom F-Head engine and the cradle-spring rear frame. Many consider this model as the last "real" Indian. This bike is very correct and parts are original to the bike and note the Schleber carb and is equipped with the offered 3-speed transmission that was newly offered in 1915. Some minor paint wear and tear as indicated in the photographs, with excellent nickel plating for the most part. Needs a new front brake cable and a replacement kick start return spring. (the current one still works, just a little weak) The bike is in running condition with all 3 speeds fully functional as well as the clutch, rear brake and Corbin speedo. This motorcycle now celebrates its 100th birthday and is a stellar example of a very difficult and rare Indian from 1915 with just a few surviving examples. This Indian motorcycle was the centerpiece at the Brookline, Massachusetts Museum of Transportation's special exhibition " Putting America on Wheels" Videos of the bike are available with the motor running.. This is not a bike like what you would see at an auction that has replica parts and a non running motor and other unknown issues. This bike is being sold on "Bill of Sale" only. This is an older restoration, very, very professional and clean, all original, with absolutely no reproduction parts !! This bike went to a collection in Germany when it was almost new and remained there for decades. Fantastic, amazing condition ! Sold on a Bill Of Sale Motorcycle is located in Germany Free Shipping in Germany Seller will assist in International Shipping The 1915 Indian Big Twin heralded the end of an era, as it was the last Indian motorcycle to carry the Hedstrom F-Head engine within a cradle-spring frame design. Accordingly, some purists regard this model as the last “real” Indian to emanate from the legendary Springfield, Massachusetts “wigwam”. Favorable public reaction cheered Indian on to proclaim in advertisements that “It is the predominant all-round machine — the crowning achievement of a company known the world over for the superiority of its product and its strict adherence to all principles fostering progress. Strength, speed, and power are manifest throughout its graceful outlines. Its great charm lies in its ability to easily surmount the hardest adverse road-riding, hill-climbing, mountain-touring conditions. If it's a rideable road, boulevard, path, or trail, the Big Twin will negotiate it.” This very attractive example offered here was expertly and sympathetically restored during the early 1990s while in the ownership of a well-known classic motorcycle enthusiast from Germany. The frame was carefully restored and prepared for final paint, while the engine was completely re-built. Handsomely finished with a dark red exterior, and complimented by gold lettering, white tires, the Big Twin would be considered “fully optioned” today. In addition to its three-speed manual transmission, a first at the time, it features a more user-friendly kick-starting mechanism that replaced the previous pedal crank system. The list of advancements also included a heavy-duty clutch, 3 speed and an original Hedstrom Carburetor. The relatively lightweight Big Twin is reported to be capable of speeds of approximately 60 miles per hour, and this fine example was used several times on “pre-1916” touring events, where it performed admirably. While some 21,000 Big Twins were originally constructed, very few remain today. The example presented here is one of the relatively few survivors, “fully optioned”, and beautifully restored. It remains in excellent condition, and is period correct throughout.

1913 Indian Twin 61 in overhead valve. Restored from a complete bike in the late 50's and won an AACA National First Prize in 1963. Excellent and rare bike with fabulous Patina. First year of the swing arm rear suspension. Formerly of the Paul Hedburn Collection. We put fresh oil and fuel to it and it fired right up. I have not ridden the bike due to a ripped rear tire but the clutch engages properly and I ran it on the stand. I did not want to put reproduction tires on the bike(It has very old Goodyear All Weather Tires) and figured I would get a set of bead lock rims for riding around.(much safer) Engine has no visible repairs with the exception of one fin repair on the #1 cylinder head by the seat post. Engine # 88E413, carb # 613, Mag # 727. . 20 sec video clip available of the bike running available. Questions? Anthony 520-990-7932

Very desirable early Indian Big Valve Indian Twin. This motor appears to have been from an early Indian racer. The previous owner disassembled it for inspection only. But all parts are in amazingly good shape and it looks like the motor could be reassembled and run! The carburetor looks to be larger than other Schebler's i've seen. The previous owner also believes there is a chance this is the missing motor from the Indian raced by the famous J.A."Jock" McNeil in Southern California in the 1920's. We have no evidence that supports this to be true, and we are clearly NOT selling this as a historically significant piece- but the possibility of such a story makes it that much more fun and interesting. The chassis was obtained separately by the same previous owner. Please look at all the pictures. There are some very rare pieces in this project so please bid accordingly. We will not separate any of the pieces from this project. The front fender could be savable as are the handlebars. The missing part from the rear of the frame is included and in nice shape. PLEASE CALL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. THANK YOU 831 252-0337

1911-13 early racing motorcycle. A remake of the Oilzum racer pictured in Stephen Wright's book "American Racer". This was to become an identical copy to the one pictured in the book. Now believed to be gone from existence, this bike was meant to fill the void left behind by one of the original fusions of 2 great motorcycle companies of the time. The motor is an original 1913 Excelsior twin. We believe most all of the parts are there and in good shape. This is a mocked up basket case. Not shown are some valves and miscellaneous other small pieces. The frame is a quality reproduction 1911-13 Indian twin modified to fit the Excelsior motor. Nice start on a reproduction gas tank with some fittings. Forks are original Indian but will need some work to undo some of the modifications on the stem. All doable. The picture in the photos is a photocopy from the American Racer book. it is from this picture the racing motorcycle was to be built. We're thinking a perfect unique possibility for the Cannonball! Please call if you have any questions before bidding. Thank you 831 252-0337
