The capacity on the tanks increases to 4.5 gallons, translating into a usable range on the highway of over 150 miles (depending on conditions).  The 883 Custom also receives new graphics in 2004.  A beautiful new, swept back handlebar riser accents the top of the steering head.  New handlebars and foot controls are pulled back for 2004, enabling an ergonomically enhanced riding position with no sacrifice in styling.  The clutch springs on the 883 models are new this year. This change results in a clutch spring rate reduction of about 25% on the 883 models.
