1976 HARLEY DAVIDSON AMF XLCH 1000 This is a completely unmolested original Sportster. This bike was purchased at an estate auction from a collection. It is the original paint, seat, exhaust, grips, pegs and more. I even think the tires are original. They are Continentals and if not original then they are period correct. Look at the pictures, I have looked the bike over and compared it to other "original" bikes and I think this is the real deal original. It is missing the insert for the air cleaner and I do believe the front lower tree should have a XLCH emblem. Outside of those two missing items this bike is original. It does have a new battery. The bike can be enjoyed as is or is a great candidate for a restoration. If kept original and ridden daily it will need some attention. The tires are rot and the shocks will need to be rebuilt. It can be used as it sits as the brakes work as well as the tach and odometer work. The dummy lights work for the gen/oil. The overall condition is average. The tires are rot and both fenders have a lot of chips as you can see in the pictures. The front exhaust has a small ding. The tank is in very good condition with one or two chips and the inside is very clean. The gauges clear covers are faded and discolored and one is cracked. This bike is kick start only. The bike has been on a short reliability run and the engine, clutch and transmission all work and sound as they should. The title will read EXEMPT from mileage because of age. I cannot verify that the mileage on the bike is truly 6K but my guess is it is because of condition and the possibility of the original tires.
