I'm finally selling the crown jewel of my collection! I purchased this bike in Miami, FL 3 years ago from the original owner. He was a wonderful gentleman who was up in years with failing eyesight so had to sell this bike that he took much pride in. Since that time, I've upgraded some of the chrome on it and added a number of original HD accessories that are now hard to come by. I've only put about 150 miles on this bike since purchasing it since I seldom took it out of storage. It's now time to sell it to someone who can add it to their collection and show it off to other enthusiasts. This 1997 Heritage Springer is truly one of one. The original owner purchased a bike from the dealer in Miami, FL in late 1996. He was an executive at a well known company and his wife traveled internationally also. He wanted a unique paint scheme that wasn't available from HD. He contacted the CEO of the Orange County, CA HD Dealership whom his wife knew. He indicated that he wanted a factory paint job from the HD factory. The CEO indicated that HD couldn't do that as it would cost way too much money to shut down the paint line for just one custom color bike. After some back and forth it was agreed that HD would do a custom paint job on the bike by pulling one guy off of the line to do it. I believe he said he paid $5,000 to HD just for the custom paint job. The result was this stunning bike in teal and black. Apparently the people at HD so loved the color combination that they actually offered the paint as a limited edition set of tins in 1998. However, my bike is the only 1997 Heritage Springer with this factory direct color! The original owner had the original engine completely rebuilt and upgraded. The original engine was modified to produce as much as 84 HP of torque and 90 HP of power (from the orignal 70 HP factory engine). He apparently spent close to $7,500 on the engine alone. Basically he turned the stock EVO engine into a Screaming Eagle engine. The dyno results are included in the extensive paperwork detailing everything that is included with the bike. Here's a list of some of the additional features: -Only 4,589 original miles-New HD whitewall HD engraved tires-Front and rear fender tip accessories (paid approximately $600 for these items)-Solo rider luggage rack including docking kit (paid approximately $700 for these items)-Samson fishtail exhausts-Added HD Nostalgia chrome accessories to complete the look-HD tool box accessory-Custom teal trimmed seat and front bag-HD mini tachometer-Twisted spokes front and rear-All original service records, owners manual and upgrade invoices Also, I will include an original HD cheesegrater accessory that I did not mount to the bike if you pay the Buy Now price. Do not ask me to sell it separately. These go for $1,000-1,500 or more alone. You can choose to mount it on the bike or sell it to someone else who desires it. As I said earlier this bike is very special and isn't for an average person just looking to purchase a Heritage Springer. This bike belongs in a special collection and should appreciate in the future. I have set a buy now price that I believe reflects the value of the bike to the right person(s). 2003 Harley Davidson Heritage Springer, this is 1 of 1260 produced and with a build date of 08/2003 it's possibly the last Vivid black springer made. 2003 was the last year Harley Davidson made the Heritage Springer and were only produced from 1997 thru 2003. This motorcycle has only 11,500 miles on it, and has been well taken care of and includes Harley Davidson transferable extended warranty the is good until December 2015! Everything mechanical is covered and including wheels and tires! It is in excellent condition, never dropped, wrecked and has never been in the rain!!! Front and rear tire are brand new! It comes with the HD security system already installed and 2 fobs. It now has new 12 1/2 inch Chubby Wild 1 handlebars, they are very comfortable. I am only selling this collector's item because I just purchased a 2014 Harley Davidson Street Glide, i really wanted to keep this one but I have decided to sell. Clear title in hand.
