Up for sale is a 1965 Sportster XLH, one of only 955 made that year. I've had this bike about 7 yrs., I'm moving and a couple of them have to go. It's a nice example of that year and the first year of 12 volt electrics. This is also a pretty original one with the engine in the original chassis with no welds or cracks in the engine. As you can see there are some external things like pipes, air cleaner, speedo, etc that can easily be changed back if you're looking to make a museum piece out of it. Things that have been done to it are: Cylinders bored to .050 w/new pistons/rings, new valve job, rockers totally rebuilt. A set of cast iron body lightened racing tappets from a super CH with PB cams. A new Barnett wet or dry clutch, direct drive engine sprocket. Distributor replaced with a magneto which has 2 keys and a kill switch on the handlebar, rear chain and both sprockets are new. Totally rewired, front wheel has a new aluminum rim and stainless spokes. The gas tank has been cleaned and relined. I could go on about new and replaced, but it's basically a 60's hot rod style Sportster and something that will increase in value. At the end of auction a $250 non-refundable deposit is required through paypal. I can accept the remainder in money order, personal check, cashiers check or cash.
