100th Anniversary XL 1200C Sportster 1200 Custom Take a look at this Anniversary Sportster 1200 Custom, and it's clear this is how 100 years ought to be celebrated. After all, the two-tone finish alone will make anybody want to paint the town Sterling Silver and Vivid Black. But we went further with the Anniversary model you see here, and added a two-piece tank emblem with gold cloisonné. Anniversary seat logo. 100-year engine covers. Nameplate. Seems we just couldn't stop, which is appropriate for a bike that carries this much style. Like a 21” laced front wheel and chrome slotted rear disc. Custom handlebar riser. Forward foot controls. Drag bar. And a powerful 1200cc Evolution engine.
With a fat front tire and steel peanut tank, this low-slung urban brawler is ready to rip through any scene. The 2013 Harley-Davidson Sportster Forty-Eight model XL1200X is one of the garage custom motorcycles in the Harley Dark Custom™ line. This bike cruises down the road with a 1200 cc Evolution engine – an engine with a true Harley-Davidson soul. New for 2013, the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight model comes with optional Hard Candy Custom™ paint, a large metal flake paint finish that recalls the iconic styling of 1970s custom bikes, and offers blazing color showing through a deep, rich finish. The Forty-Eight model also has an authentic peanut tank which first appeared on Harley-Davidson back in 1948 (its name origin) and has been a defining Sportster feature ever since. The front end of the bike looks beefy with its fat MT90 tire. The Harley Sportster Forty-Eight model look is enhanced with the lowered front and rear suspension. Add a low seat height, and you have a serious looking motorcycle with an approachable riding stance. Take some time and look over the features of this Harley Dark Custom model, including the unique under mount motorcycle mirrors.
1969 XLCH Sportster. Customized for a fresh look. Runs great, new brakes added within the last year to make for a more enjoyable ride. Rigid frame that's great for riding around the city and always turns heads.
For decades, fun could best be defined as a potent engine sitting dead center in a strong, agile frame with nothing but miles of winding asphalt ahead. As long as we keep building and refining the Sportster®, that definition will stay true. If you’ve never swung a leg over, you should. Once astride, twist the throttle and feel the V-Twin generate mounds of torque. It’s a satisfying rush that hits you right in the pit of your stomach. We rubber-mounted the engine to the frame for a more comfortable ride — no road is unfamiliar territory, no journey too far. And though riding a Sportster has always been a blast, we keep finding more ways to make things even more rider friendly. We redesigned the transmission so it shifts smoother. Take a quick trip through the gears and you’ll no doubt appreciate the near-effortless clutch. There’s also improved kickstand ergonomics — now the bike is easier to reach and lift. The pure American street machine just keeps getting better. Something about the 1200 Custom pulls you in. At first glance, you see it in the swept-back handlebar, pullback riser and bullet-style headlight. But you can’t quite put your finger on it. Then you check out the wheels. Chrome Slotted Disc with wide tire in back. Laced wheel up front. Center stage sits the 4.5-gallon tank. The machine takes over your thoughts. In the saddle, you feel it in the forward foot controls and low seat. But thumb the starter to the rubber-mounted, black powder-coated, chrome-covered Evolution® engine and there’s simply no mistaking what made the 1200 Custom legendary. One ride and you’ll know. The spirit of the Sportster® definitely lives on.

This bike is my baby, Susie. I bought her for myself when I graduated college. Due to travel and medical issues, she has very low miles ~5,000. You're getting a great bike. I rode her from Tacoma, WA to Plainfield, MA in 2013 without a single hiccup. I've changed the oil regularly, even when she was sitting (fuel stabilizer as well) , and there are no mechanical issues. There are two seats, a solo and a two-up, two saddlebags, a tankbag, a forkbag, windshield mounting hardware, and a road gremlin bell. She was laid down one time in 2008, at 15 mph. Cosmetic damage only, some of which I thought looked neat and never fixed.
There’s nothing like taking a good thing further. Nowhere is that basic premise more obvious than the 883 Custom. One look at the profile and you’ll see this is everything a Sportster® is and much more. Starting with our latest incarnation of the Evolution® engine, rubber-mounted for a smooth ride. The riding position got better, too, thanks to the new handlebar, riser and the easier-to-reach forward foot controls. The good news keeps going with a rear disc with 150mm tire, lowered suspension and two-up seat. A 4.5-gallon tank means you won’t have to stop anytime soon. Same is true with your custom look.
