This was my daily ride for years and is a great all around machine. Unfortunately, I took it to a local Ducati mechanic for belt replacement, pulley bearings and valve service; then 500 miles later it had a issue. While sitting at idle (approx. 1000 rpm) the horizontal cylinder stopping running and the bike would not re-fire. I pulled belt covers off and found a shredded belt and both the cams (on H.C.) stick when turning them over. From what I can tell the head will need to be pulled and rebuilt. I started to pull it down to fix and then gift it to my son, but he was a victim of an impatient driver and now needs help with medical bills rather than another motorcycle.
