2003 Yamaha YZ250, VERY NICE CONDITION, HARD TO FIND A REALLY CLEAN 2 STROKE.. - CORNER-TO-CORNER BALLISTIC MISSLE. "The desire for knob-chunking, roost-tossing performance." That's the heart-pounding appeal of a 250cc two-stroke in a nutshell. And no MX machine makes this statement quite like the YZ250, Dirt Rider's 2002 "250 Shootout" champ and winner of three straight "250 of the Year" crowns. Which is precisely why the 2003 YZ250 rolls in with an even sharper edge. All-new cylinder head and combustion chamber construction, combined with reshaped exhaust and scavenging porting, help deliver meaner mid-range hit and a broader over-rev envelope. A revised second-gear ratio gets that explosive punch to the ground with even less effort. Stiffer, lighter frame and swingarm design ensures flex-free handling. And recalibrated suspension mean smoother fork travel and more precise rear wheel control. The factory racing-spec adjustable clutch lever lets you fine-tune cable play for optimal lever pull and feel, on the fly. Also, stopping power gets a major boost in strength and feel this year with lighter-weight, compact (in factory bike style) front and rear disc brake calipers and a redesigned rear master cylinder, utilizing an integrated, space-saving fluid reservoir.

The intake cams are also new as are the redesigned inlet and exhaust manifolds. The SM 450/510 models now benefit from a newly designed Gianelli exhaust system that improves performance and meets with Euro 3 standards. New 50 mm Marzocchi forks, tried and tested in World series races by Adrien Chareyre are now fitted to the machines. There is also a new steering head that accommodates a 205 mm hub and features a “mono-bolt” upper plate The Sachs shock absorbers have been completely re-calibrated in line with the new front end set-up. The handlebars are fully adjustable (better suited to Motard) and come complete with plastic hand guards. The new digital instrument panel and more powerful headlight are particularly important for off-roading. The rear brake disc now measures 240 mm with 26 mm Brembo callipers governed by a pump with an integrated reservoir whereas the front brakes have been fitted with new mixed-composite pads. The front brakes are completely new with a 320 mm diameter disc, “racing” pump and adjustable lever. The radial callipers further improve braking efficiency and adjustability.
