Model CRF 230F NICE DIRTBIKE

2013 HONDA CRF 230F NICE DIRTBIKE, The Honda CRF230F has a very manageable 34.6-inch seat height, and the 12 inches of ground clearance keeps the meagerly protected motor out of most trouble. A claimed curb weight of 248 pounds sounds a bit high, but the bike is well balanced and relatively low to the ground, so it doesn’t feel heavy in normal use.Suspension travel is fairly long for the CRF230F’s modest requirements-9.5 inches in the front and nine-even in the back-and they’re Showa units with linkage in the rear. Action isn’t exactly plush, and don’t even consider anything resembling a double jump or whoop, yet they’re still decently valved and sprung for casual and reasonably spirited riding. With a flat torque curve and six-speed transmission, plus decent overrev in the motor (it still has a carb), the 2013 Honda CRF230F is always in the powerband. The slick transmission is pure Honda, so it shifts nicely. The clutch did get some hard use on our cross-country track (we rolled the doubles) and highly technical single-track test trail. It refused to misbehave, and it makes riding the CRF230F effortless. The 54-inch wheelbase makes it easy to glide through tight trails.

2016 YAMAHA YZ 250F 60TH ANNIV, Aside from its retro-sexy 60th Anniversary Limited Edition yellow and black photostrobe bodywork and graphics, there is no outwardly visible difference between the 2016 YZ250F and the 2015 model it replaces. Its bilateral beam aluminum chassis is the same. The body panel shapes are the same. Its rearward-inclined engine and mass-centralizing wraparound exhaust system all look the same. The YZ250F’s 249cc, DOHC Single features some key internal changes, including a new piston, new heat treating for the connecting rod and new thrust washers on the big end to increase rigidity and reduce engine vibration. The engine’s balance factor has also been changed to help the YZ drive out of corners better. But delve inside the 2016 YZ250F’s 249cc liquid-cooled, DOHC four-stroke Single, and things are not the same. For the second straight year, Yamaha has redesigned the YZ250F’s piston. This one features a flatter crown to affect a change in the combustion chamber velocity, and it does away with the sharp edges of the old one, for more efficient filling and scavenging of the mixture. Despite the flatter top, the new piston still maintains the same 13.5:1 compression ratio as the old piston, but look underneath and you will see that its F1-style bridged-box design is completely different, contributing to a 7% weight reduction even while incorporating lateral ribs added to both sides of the wrist pin for greater rigidity. Combining that savings with a lighter piston pin, Yamaha shaved just over 18 grams of top-end weight from the engine. Any high-performance engine builder worth his or her salt will confirm that less top-end weight is always preferable for easier power production and greater reliability at stratospheric rpm.

2015 YAMAHA YZ 250FX, Naturally, the FX’s 249cc DOHC four-stroke Single engine architecture mirrors that of its sisters. That includes Yamaha’s reversed cylinder head, rearward inclined cylinder and rearward exiting exhaust. Yamaha engineers first introduced this design on its YZ450F back in 2010, and used it to win an AMA 250cc National Motocross Championship with factory rider Jeremy Martin in 2014. Its main advantages include a straighter intake shot to the combustion chamber and symmetrical intake and exhaust ports for more consistent cylinder filling.Mass centralization is also key to the Yamaha’s design, which places the cylinder in a 6.2-degree rearward incline to place the top-end mass and camshaft rotational inertia toward the center of the chassis. Offsetting the cylinder 3.5mm forward of the crankshaft centerline also frees up horsepower by reducing drag; the connecting rod is more vertical at the moment of greatest combustion force, which reduces piston-to-cylinder wall side thrust

2015 YAMAHA YZ 450F, The YZ-F’s motor comes on deceivingly smooth down low and rips into a healthy mid-range pull. The smooth roll-on throttle delivery can creep up on you fast if you’re not careful so make sure to hang on once it gets into the mid range. The top end pulls very hard and is lengthened in 2015.
