Do not know why the pictures are not showing up, can see pictures at cycle trader. I started acquiring R model parts in the 1980's. I thought back then as I do today, that the XR 750 was, and is the best looking motorcycle ever made. Jack Hardy was instrumental in getting some of the more difficult parts. Jack would call Dick O'brien personally, as he used to work for him as a factory race mechanic. Gary O'kern extremely talented F1 machinist built the bike for me, with all the special features that you can see. 1948 Indian Chief ROADMASTER, This sale is for a 1948 Indian Chief Road Master. This is a 12 year old complete restoration. Starts and runs, and sounds tight as it should. Shifts smoothly as it should. This also has a clean title. The motor was rebuilt in 2003 by Starklight and the odometer has also been changed; the original had about 8,000 miles, and after the rebuild about 413 miles. The motor rebuild took about 4 months to do. Some of the cables are original cables as the previous owners tried to keep as much original as possible. The paint is one of 3 original color combinations done in 2008 by Larry Strumitt in Cortez. This bike has had only 2 owners since 1984 and the person who did complete restoration owned it for more than 20 years. It has been in parades in Montrose, Paonia and Delta. We've put the following new parts on the bike: Tires, Battery, Cables, Front and Rear Sprockets, Chain, Hand Grips, Seals/Gaskets (various), Drivers Rubber Foot Pegs, Intake Gasket, Front Fork Boots, Battery Box Cover/Handle, Kick Starter Rubber, Points, Point Cover Gasket, Left Handle Lever. Services Performed: Valve Adjustment, Carb Clean and Adjustment, Tank Flush (it's in great shape, no rust), Flushed and Re-filled Front Forks, Overall Cleaning, Brake Adjustments. Original Stuff With it: Main Seat (original, needs re-upholstered), Saddle Bag, Tool Kit, Owners Manual Rear Seat Pad (they recovered it (poorly) at some point in the past). Other Stuff With it: Shop Manual, Misc Spare Parts. Stored in our garage full time since we've owned it. It was stored in a barn/garage prior to that. Clear Title on it.
