** Update 2/21/17: Just sent the bike through Cheshire for full fluid annual. They took wheels off and tightened spokes to spec, updated some bushings, checked bearings, and made some other suggestions. Over $600 in all. Runs very well, needs nothing to get you through the summer! I am motivated to let this bike go. This is a screaming deal and MUCH less than i paid for it 2 yrs ago. (I've barely put 500miles on it since I bought it.) This machine is a beauty. I just need the space and am going to take a loss to let this go so i can make room for a new machine. I don't have a passion for the sidecar like I thought I would, but it's fun! However, PLEASE be serious about buying this bike if you choose to contact me. Folks this fully restored 1964 BMW /2 with an R90/6 motor has been built with no holes bared it has so many extras that their too many to list. New motor and tranny, aircraft paint and powder coating, 15" low profile wheels with new tires and front disc brakes, 1958 Bender sidecar fully restored and red pro upholstered seat and high pile carpet for ultiment comfort, large marine battery in sidecar trunk. 1996 BMW Side Car , BMW R850R Motorcycle with Dnepr Sidecar. Ive owned this motorcycle since 2003 and 16,000 miles. Added the sidecar in 2008. The side car has approximately 1500 miles. Sidecar features original Dnepr wheel and drum brake and Yamaha (Virago) air adjustable shock. The spring and damping rate of the air shock closely approximate the motorcycle rear shock making for a sure and stable ride. The sidecar tub is widened to provide about four inches additional hip room from original. The seat back cushion is modified to provide about two inches additional legroom. This is a very comfortable sidecar and easily accommodates people over six feet tall. The sidecar is a quick attach design. It can be easily installed or removed in twenty to thirty minutes with just four bolts and two electrical plugs to go from solo to sidecar or back to solo. Salvage title due to hitting a pothole and damaging both wheels (tires should be replaced because of possible impact damage), damage to the right pannier, tail light lens, rear brake line, and a couple light bulbs. This made for expensive though not serious damage to the motorcycle. The insurance company totaled the bike and I retained salvage as it was my intent to repair the bike. The sidecar was not attached at the time of the pothole incident. Though the motorcycle wheels were bent, I rode the bike home fifteen miles and it was smooth - no vibration or awkward handling. Indeed I did not see the bent wheels until after I returned home. I had the BMW dealer do a thorough structural inspection as it was my intent to repair the bike if at all possible. They found no structural defects. Their repair estimate is available for examination to serious buyers in person. The project languished and I bought a different motorcycle. Accessories include: BMW brand windshield. BMW brand hard cases (saddlebags) one hook is damaged on the right case. Moto Equip-Side-Bag-Reflective-Tape-Kit-ME-RK-2. Reynolds Rear Luggage Rack. BMW brand tachometer. Battery charging harness. BMW brand heated grips. Extenda Fenda by Pyramid (front fender extension). Recent maintenance includes Hall sensor, alternator belt, clutch cable, synthetic engine trans, and final drive oil. Since the pothole incident Ive kept the gas tank full with stabilized premium unleaded gasoline, changing it out for fresh stabilized fuel every few months and I ride it around our own property from time to time to keep it limbered up. Aside from the above mentioned damage the bike is in good running order. I have personally put all the miles on this motorcycle since 16,000 miles. It has been a great ride.
