1973 BMW R 75 , I am the second owner of this 1973 BMW R75/5. The original owner replaced the stock /5 engine with a 1975 R90S engine. It has the four speed transmission with the kick starter. Don't be confused, it is electric start. I finished the restoration this spring (2015). The bike has 600 miles on it. No corners were cut or money spared. All the parts are original BMW except the Boyer Bransden electronic ignition, seat, bodywork and clip-ons. Airtech Streamline supplied the clip-ons, front fender, seat pan, windscreen, cowling and rear fender. The custom leather seat was built by Rich's Custom Seats (Kingston, WA). The Beemer Shop (Scotts Valley, CA) rebuilt the heads (new valves, springs, guides, seats) and supplied all the parts. The timing cover, valve covers and triple clamp were powder coated. The frame and swingarm sand blasted, primed and painted. Almost every electric part is new including a solid mounted diode board, handlebar switches (turn, start, high/lo, horn), custom ignition switch, turn signal lights and tail light. The engine and trans was completely rebuilt (timing chain, seals, bearings, rings, throw out rod assembly, clutch assembly, etc. The oil pan is an oversized with cooling tubes. The carbs are Dellorto 38s with accelerator pumps. New throttle cables and boots. The exhaust header and crossover is new with Emgo cafe style mufflers. New clutch cable and front brake cable. New fork boots and rebuilt forks. New foot peg rubber and handgrips. The swingarm bearings and fork bearings are new. The tires are new Continentals TKC70s. The bike is currently registered as a collector vehicle (one time registration). This bike is ready to run for another 40 years. I have extra parts such as swingarm bearings, oil filters, new clutch plate and light bulbs. The bike was painted by Coachman Inc. (Walla Walla). The paint is baked on Acrylic Urethane basecoat clearcoat with painted on pinstriping. There is a YouTube video of the bike running. $11,999.00
