This is the 1995 BMW R1100RS raced by the late Grand National Campion Gary Nixon (Triumph 1967, 68) the in BMW Battle of the Legends Series in 1996 & 1997, signed by the late Campion, Gary Nixon. The Legend's race ran from 1992-1997, racing legends commissioned by BMW raced on identically prepared BMW motorcycles at AHRMA races in Daytona, Loudon, Sears Point and Lexington. Four bikes were used in the series: 1992 R100R, 1993 R100R, 1994 R1100RS and this 1995 R1100RS. Of the four bikes raced by Gary Nixon: the 1993 bike is on display at Herney's BMW/Triumph in Port Clinton, PA; the 1994 bike is in private ownership, and the 1992 bike is not accounted for. This is the 1995 bike, the actual bike raced by Gary Nixon in 1996 and 1997. Gary Nixon tied the series with Jay Springsteen in 96, with Springsteen being declared the winner but Nixon won the series outright in 1997 on this bike. The series was cancelled after 1997 after racer Roger Reiman died in practice. This bike, which had been sold to a BMW dealership, had non-original yellow wheels and aftermarket Remus exhaust but was recently returned to it's former racing form by Hermy's BMW, an authorized BMW dealer. The bike is now as it was raced by Gary Nixon except for any safety wire, different tires and a smoke windscreen. The bike itself is in perfect running condition and recently serviced. BMW promotional race video (VHS and DVD) of this bike in action (1996) and documentary book included, (which confirms the VIN and ridership). The bike is featured on page 47, the appendix and throughout the book and video.

1995 BMW R 1100 RS, 1995 BMW R1100RS motorcycle, fully functional Anti-lock braking system, 2 keyed (same as ignition) hard touring bags (extra large) adjustable windshield, trip odometer, side and center stand, Michelin Pilot tires, adjustable handlebars w/ lowered foot pegs. 5 speed transmission, no leaks or issues, I have all service records since new, bike is also garage kept. Included is original windshield (extra large touring screen fitted), bike cover, shop manual & complete set of NIB front brake pads. The tires are in very good condition, the engine pulls strongly, no leaks or smoking, no excuses. This German machine is overbuilt, safe and reliable, and looking for the next rider! $4,200.00
