Special limited edition BMW airhead tribute R100R Boxer Classic. Sadly it's time to sell y first BMW. I have retired and am moving to the country with dirt, gravel and hilly roads, including my 1/2 mi driveway! I cannot expose this bike to these conditions. I'm selling to join the dual sport crowd, F800GS??I bought it 5-95 with 220 mi from Joe Wright at All Seasons Wooster OH. He really wanted to keep it for himself. The original owner traded it in within a few weeks foe a CBR! It currently shows 13,500 careful miles. Serviced at Allseasons and BMW MC of Cleve in Aurora. Have all records. Looks nd runs beautifully. Included are the Parabellun Scout fairing w tall and short shields, Corbin seat w backrest (quick mounts at rider or passenger), heated grips, OEM Tankbag, Prioity Plus brake light, side stand fix kit, side cases w reflective kit, hand guards and Renolds backrest. Also have original grey - black seat and clear windshield fairing that came on it. Last serviced at 10,741 mi. New Lasertec frt and rear tires at 13,137 mi. Speedo cable 6-95, clutch plate and tranny rebuild 6-02 at 8,721 mi , (improper spline lube), Valeo starter 10,380 mi.I have loved having this bike and hope'd I'd never have to sell but I'm not a collector and need a more appropriate ride in my new location. The 06 RT is not going anywhere however! Thanks for looking. Pictures are so so but are what I currently have. I can take more detailed shots and send them to guinuinely interested parties. Thanks for looking. I
I’m the second owner and have owned the bike since 2000. The bike has been in one accident in 2005. Everything was assessed by Marin BMW and all damaged parts replaced. I have the full records.Overall the bike has been very reliable, taking me through the Feather River canyon and to Death Valley on many occasions. It’s a nice mixture of a classic BMW engine and relatively more modern brakes and suspension. I have some hard shell cases and a tank bag included along with a Corbin seat. The bike needs a new owner with more time than I currently have to enjoy it and provide a little tlc.More info-Transmission was rebuilt by Recommended Service in 2012 and I’ve only put a couple hundred miles on it since-I replaced the timing advance unit around the same time-The heads have dual spark plugs using a Dyna ignition booster-Engine was overhauled by San Jose BMW with head reconditioning, new pistons (higher compression), valves, and higher performance camshaft-Much of the electrical systems has been renewed including the diode board and alternator-The Muffler is a non-stock Remus-The crash guards and side stand are missing, I bought the bike this way and only use the center stand-The disk brakes have been recently renewed with new seals, pistons, master cylinder, pads and a stainless brake line-The rotors rattle a lot, this is considered “normal” but they need to be replaced for it to quiet down. It’s very un-BMW sounding on Oakland’s busted roads-The spoke wheels could probably use a rebuild/true from someplace like Buchanan Spoke and RimThe bike probably needs a tune up and carb sync / idle adjustment as I have not ridden it in a long time.More photos @ https://jonathont.me/2016/08/22/r100r/
