This is a really clean and well taken care of 1975 R90/6. We have gone through and done both a compression and leak down test and the bike passed with flying colors. We have changed all the fluids including the fork oil and brake fluid, rebuilt the carbs, done a full tune up with valve adjustment and new spark plugs and test driven the bike.the R90/6 is one of the most desirable of the /6 series airheads and to this day make a great everyday rider. If you would like to take this bike out on a test ride please plan it for a dry day and call 24 hours ahead to schedule. This is a nice original, low mile, one owner bike. We bought this from a guy in his eighties. It was his baby since new. This bike has it's original factory paint, it still shines. We did a full service plus some in our shop. We put new Metzlers on it, installed a new battery, rebuilt the carbs and petcocks, resealed the top end, inspected the valves and pistons, changed gearbox oil, engine oil and filter, final drive oil, fork oil, lubricated the steering head and swing are bearings and wheel bearings. 1975 BMW R90/6 SOLD... Bored cylinders and honed to fit new Kolbenschmidt pistons and new rings. Transmission: Tore down and inspected all gears and shafts. To see more high resolution views of this bike in detail please click on the link below to direct you to our online photo storage on Picturepush or request our series of high resolution photos via an email to [email protected]. 22 Ltr. the seat pan was sanded and painted then recovered with a replica seat cover and new original seat trim. the fenders fuel tank battery covers headlight mounts and headlight bucket were sanded down primered and painted with original Glazruit paint clearcoat and hand pinstriped. Reassembled with all new bearings springs and seals. New drive shaft boot installed. Installed new lower rod bearings inspected pin bushings and found them at low end of tolerance. This blows it up to maximum size (about 6 times window size) and you can use the scroll bars to move around your view point like your eye is 2 feet from the bike. Inspected and reassembled cam and lifters with new cam chain and followers. Motorcycles Other DX5631161624338526640166348 DX1 . We picked out a very nice set of used original rear shocks disassembled inspected and cleaned them then polished the shock covers. Resealed entire motor. This bike is now the closest thing you could come to a brand new 1975 R90/6! So far we have test drove the bike 300 miles to break in the motor (seat the new rings) and give the whole bike a general shake-down cruse; we will continue as weather permits until we reach 500 miles. A ground upgrade kit was installed on the motor and new alternator brushes and new spark plug wires and original metal caps. Full Restoration. We took this 1975 BMW R90/6 completely apart and did a front to back mechanical and cosmetic restoration; everything was made like new! For those of you who want the details read on! Stripped the frame subframe swingarm centerstand and battery box; painted all and installed new steering neck bearings. We would be happy to provide you with a quote for enclosed insured to-your-door delivery by a carrier we have a good history with. the original Karcoma petcocks were rebuilt. Final drive was disassembled and inspected and found in very good condition; then we reassembled and resealed it. Installed and balanced new Metzeller tires with new tubes. Rebuilt front fork; disassemble clean & inspect reassemble with ALL new bumpers wiper rings seals crush washers and accordion for boots. New mirrors new footpeg rubbers new cables new rear and side red reflectors new battery new starter relay and much much more. Driveshaft was inspected as very good. Tank. Performed complete valve job with new guides. No detail was overlooked. Then scroll down to the bottom right and click on the word ? Full? . 1975 BMW R90/6 Black. Polished the rims and laced and trued with chrome spokes. Selected like new clutch pressure plate and pressure ring installed with new clutch friction disc. Installed new crankcase breather. New rubber kneepads and tank emblems were installed. New MAC replica headers were installed and a like new pair of reproduction mufflers. Inspected oil pump rotor clearance and resealed cover. Rebuilt front and rear wheels; bead blasted the hubs installed and shimmed new bearings and seals. Then we will perform a ? New Bike? 500 Mile Service consisting of oil and filter change retorque the heads and readjust the valves check the timing and re-sync the carbs and an ent-to-end check and adjust. the swingarm bearings were already like new so we left them and installed new seals. Motor: tore down to crank measured the main bearings and found them at low end of tolerance. After that is done the bike will be ready to give decades of trouble free riding to its lucky new owner!
