The bike is triple matching vin (Frame, Title, and Engine) 1964 /2. The R50 is well known as one of the smoothest and most reliable vintage motorcycles. Purchased from a long time East Coast collector who has owned the bike since new in 1964. This bike has only had two owners, the original owner and myself. I purchased it several years ago out of a probate sale in Connecticut. The bike arrived completely restored but had not been ridden in about 15yrs. Following delivery to San Francisco was sent in for maintenance from a shop that specializes in /2. Starts easily usually with one kick even with cold starts. Once started will quickly idle smoothly. Runs wonderfully silent. Its an incredible elegant machine. The brake shoes (front and back) serviced. Re-torqued all nuts and bolts on the bike. The wiring and lights are all functional. The valves have been gapped to spec. Ignition and timing have been service. New spark plugs. Cleaned/Re-built both carburetors with new gaskets. Serviced horn. New fuel lines Oil was changed. (Engine, transmission, driveshaft, and final drive). All the cables are new. There is zero oxidation or rust on the bike. The rims are the much sought after aluminum. They are stunningly shinny. There are beautifully bits or chrome around the bike including the triple-tree for the forks. The black power-coated paint on the fenders and gas tank is in fantastic condition and pin-striping will make any collector smile. All the locks and original keys work perfectly. The tires are Avon and have about 500 miles on them. The tires are much smoother to ride around turns verses the period 'Flat-walled' tires that come on Vintage bikes. The Avon’s seem to make the bike float around turns. This is the Euro model and comes with the Earles Forks front end instead of the US standard telescoping forks. Looks so much cooler and more collectable. Of course comes with the original Euro bars with headlight mirrors.. Thank You and God Bless America

1968 BMW R50/2 with sidecar. This /2 has a 1974 BMW R75/6 engine in her for more power and reliability. The bike is titled off of the VIN plate and frame number that shows the bike as a 1968 R50/2. The speedometer does work. The bike has a car battery behind the sidecar seat that powers the whole bike. There is not a makers mark on the sidecar but there is a foot peg on the sidecar that says Colson. The bike does have a front fairing which I provided pictures of, and I will be happy to put it back on if the buyer wants it. She will eventually need the carbs cleaned, and new tires, so I am listing her has a project.

Engine frame and title numbers match. the pin stripes on the bike are in very good condition except on the fairing. We put a new coil in it to make it start easily again but that is all we? ve done. the Metzeller OE style tires are in Very Good condition. This blows it up to maximum size (about 6 times window size) and you can use the scroll bars to move around your view point like your eye is 2 feet from the bike. 1967 BMW R50/2 2700 miles on a meticulous, ground-up restoration of this classic 1967 R50/2 BMW motorcycle. Restoration done by a BMW mechanic over three winters. Engine, gearbox, final drive, frame and all electricals were restored. Cylinders bored 1/1000 inch over standard and hardened valve seats installed. All suspension bearings were replaced. The original triple tree bearings were replaced with tapered bearings (better than the original bearings). The frame was stripped, then powder coated. Sheet medal parts and tank were stripped, lacquered, and clear coated. Deep-dish Weiman aluminum wheels were polished and laced with stainless spokes. Brake shoes were replaced with modern shoe material (much better than the original). Corbin seats have been installed, but I still have the original bench seat (the Corbins are much more comfortable). Folding luggage rack. Complete OEM tool kit. All serial numbers match. Careful post restoration break-in done to original factory instructions. This is a rare find and will give years of trouble-free service. $13,500.00 7205290155
