This low-mileage R1150RT-P spent brief time as a police unit in the state of Rhode Island. It was later purchased by the present owner from MaxBMW and has been babied in the Southeast ever since. The bike is equipped with the following (see photos): Sargent solo seat, original locking black side cases, locking rear top box, adjustable windshield, Metzeler RoadTec Z6 tires (front and rear), dual-disc front brakes and single-disc rear, 6-speed transmission, a great cosmetic appearance, 6.6-gallon fuel tank with mounted clipboard, and more. Purchase also includes the original windscreen, original seat, side panels, rider's manual, and supplementary police rider's manual. 2002 BMW R1150RT-P, These ex-Authority bikes remain popular for many reasons: they look cool, they’re in colors civilian bikes are not offered, they come with extra equipment that is very expensive purchased separately and are set up for solo riding or touring. This one was originally sold to and used by the CHP in California according to BMW’s documentation. The person we acquired it from is believed to be the second owner but there is no way to confirm this with 100% accuracy.This is a PROJECT BIKE. There was some engine noise which could be from the timing chain, chain rails or even the valves; we’ve not explored this at all and it may run fine for thousands of miles without doing anything. The battery was not in perfect shape to start with but was on a trickle charger and we started it up just fine a week or so before doing this write up in late February.
