This was BMW? s ? back up? bike for the Battle of the Legends race held in Daytona in 1993 and was ridden in the later race by Walter Zeller. the paint is beautiful with only a few minor flaws some light scratches on the top of the tank. This offering has been over a year in the works and we are truly excited to finally offer it up. It is unlikely that we or any other US dealer will ever have one of these for sale again. We're sort of surprised that after all the work and time that Bob didn't keep it for himself since he loves this particular model. Please note that this bike has a km/hr speedo on it which shows the kilometers ridden; we've done the conversion to miles in the listing.So now we'll share a great deal more on what could be your next BMW unfolds. Bob hunted this very rare beast down and began the process of negotiations, initial evaluations from afar and then another with a fellow dealers help at one point (just like we do for customers seeking private transactions) along with the complicated paperwork process to get it across the Canadian border legally so that we could deliver it with a clear, legitimate US based (Maryland) title to some very smart and very lucky individual.

N/A N/A 6419001 6419181 Below is a BMW Factory Archive reply to a query from Howard Davidson: The BMW R 100 US VIN 6419144 was manufactured on December 10th, 1990 and delivered on December 30th, 1992 to BMW of North America. The original colour was Classic Black metallic, paint code 656. It is not shown why there is such a large difference between production and delivery dates.
