This is a 1957 BMW R26, fresh restoration. Matching numbers. All parts purchased from Germany from OEM provider and through BMW. All parts were media blasted, re-chromed and powder coated, with exception to the tins which were painted. Electrical system has new harness, contactless ignition (no more points to fuss with) and semiconductor voltage regulator 6v for ease of operation and reliability. It comes with the BMW tool kit and rag, 2 mirrors that are included but not installed at moment, and passenger foot pegs. Rack was installed on rear fender with gasket so as to not mar the finish and can be easily removed for clean look, or for passenger seat. This was a detailed restoration that consisted of painting and powder coating all the parts to last for a very long time--everything from the wheels up was blasted and powder coated. The good:I've got a beautiful 1959 R26 BMW up for sale that's all original (all matching) with a fresh top end motor rebuild and trans rebuild ($3,500 worth of work.) Bunch of upgrades too like new handle bars, single side mirror, new exhaust pipe, points/plug, fluids, black and yellow plate that reads "1959 BMW". The bike gets tons of thumbs up from all kinds of riders and is a great foreground for any photo op. Every time I pull over to get off the bike it gets a lot of attention and cool conversations ensue. I've only put about 50 miles on the bike since all the work. I'm looking to sell off a few things because I'm getting into another passion of Porsche collecting and need the room. A fantastic display piece or a sweet ride to get attention on.The minor issues:The only thing it needs replaced is a small condenser in the coil (about a $12 part) that I believe needs a little soldering and an oil gasket (maybe $4 bucks for that.) It runs fine, but when warmed up a bit it loses a little power due to that condenser, but really easy fix and same with the oil gasket, a few bolts and it pops right in. This is a classic cafe racer-style BMW 1973 R50/5. This has the a rare "toaster" gas tank, and is a perfect example of the "airhead" models. It has been fully restored and is meticulously maintained. Paint is very well done except for the headlight can. 3. Pinstriping is great. 4. New NOS hella bar end signals. 5. 12 v dynamo conversion What it needs 1. Original blinker switches 2. One bad broken engine fin (see pic) 3. Needs badge 4. Right carb pitted fixed w epoxy. It was like that when i got it, discovered it later on a tune up. 6. Non original kick but looks original. This bike runs great it is a true 1962 beast and will go anywhere.
