There are nice tasty bits that have been added to the bike over the years. Savvy BMW GS people will recognize the BMW aluminum side case mounts ready to accept BMW aluminum side boxes, footpegs from the Adventure, front mudguard (or beak) extension from the Adventure, BMW aluminum valve cover protectors, Ohlins rear shock (front shock is stock), Remus muffler and LED inserts in the turn indicators. After taking it in we completed the safety inspection and changed the oil and filter. The technician who performed the work noted items on this bike that will prevent it from passing inspection. The notes are below in the service report section of this listing. Due to the age of the bike we have decided to disclose what is needed and sell it as-is. What is needed is nothing significant and this is a real nice example of a hexhead GS that has been cared for over the years. The previous owner added the BMW aluminum side cases, SW Motech protection bars, Black Dog skid plate. Mudslinger rear shock protector, front fender extender and a Scottoiler chain lubrication system (bottle of Scottoiler oil included). We have serviced the bike since new with the most recent work completed this past November 2016 when we did an annual service (oil and filter change and reset of the service reminder) and a brake flush. There are light scuffs on the left side bar end, hand guard and engine protection bar from what appears to be a low-speed whoop-sie. We inspected the steering head and forks and no issues were found in those components. The front tire measures 2/32 and the rear is 4/32. The front tire will pass a NH state inspection however 2/32 is the minimum. We can price the bike with or without the replacement of the front tire to allow for pricing flexibility. This is a time capsule one-owner RS originally sold by Freeman's Cycles in Beverly, MA and serviced there until they closed. We started servicing this bike in October 2002 right after we opened and the bike visited us over the years for regular maintenance. After taking it in we completed a safety inspection to assess the condition and needs of the bike. Please see the service report section for the disclosure of what this bike will need to get it ready for the road. This is one of those bikes worth investing in as it is in extremely nice condition with no signs of abuse or neglect. The previous owner did all the right things; serviced it, kept it away from harsh conditions when not in use and replaced the stock suspension with Ohlins when the factory suspenders wore out. Stacks of records came to us with the bike which also shows the nature of the previous owner. Due to the age there are items that will need to be addressed and we are selling this bike as-is and disclosing our findings in the service report section. This bike will need to be loaded on a truck, trailer or delivered since it will not pass a NH state inspection.
