The special edition Six Days models celebrate this success with special performance upgrades and top-of-the-line components. In 2015 the ISDE (International Six Days of Enduro) will be held in Slovakia, and the KTM model line-up has been suitably equipped to handle anything the muddy and rocky terrain can throw at it. Features May Include: VALVE TRAIN The crankshaft drives an intermediate multifunctional shaft, which in turn drives the coolant pump and the two camshafts via the cam chain, while also acting as a counter balancer. A hydraulic chain tensioner ensures reliable chain tension to achieve highly precise valve timings. GENERATOR The 350 XCF-W engine is equipped with a 196 W alternator with integrated starter freewheel. The alternator provides sufficient energy for the fuel injection, lighting and other electrical loads. The oil-cooled rotor has a larger diameter with a bigger flywheel mass and is contained in a larger ignition cover. ENGINE The 350cc 4-stroke engine with a state-of-the-art electronic fuel injection system offers a very wide power band and is distinguished by a dynamic but easy to manage power delivery. At over 45hp of maximum power, the 350 XCF-W is strong enough to beat any 450 in it's class. CYLINDER HEAD The DOHC cylinder head contains four ultra-lightweight titanium valves (intake 36.3mm, exhaust 29.1mm), activated by two overhead camshafts via very small, DLC coated followers that weigh only 8g. The super lightweight design allows for extremely high engine speed levels of up to 12,000 rpm. The camshaft timing is perfectly tuned for performance in low end for Enduro specific performance. CRANKSHAFT The 350 XCF-W has a heavier crankshaft in order to achieve a more even power delivery and better traction through the greater gyrating mass. The crankshaft employs a plain big end bearing, and two force-fitted bearing shells run directly on the crank pin. The necessary oil feed for this bearing is ensured by the engine's pressure lubrication. This design increases the engine's long-term durability and lengthens crankshaft service intervals, which is a customer benefit in terms of time, effort and cost. BODYWORK The bodywork has been designed ergonomically and functionally in such a way that the whole motorcycle is in perfect harmony with the rider down to the very last detail. 2014 KTM 350 SX-F, super clean and ready to race! 2014 KTM 350 SX-F BENCHMARK In the three years since the revolutionary 350 SX-F has been introduced, this bike has proven that it is possible to win the MX1 World Championship even with reduced displacement. Since then, Tony Cairoli has clearly dominated the class with the 350 SX-F, and in 2013, the Italian once again bets on the ingenious combination of low-weight, playful agility and a high-revving engine. A unique recipe for success that benefits amateurs and pros alike. Features May Include: TRIPLE CLAMPS Top-quality, CNC-machined triple clamps have been something of a KTM trademark. Ensuring a precise handling, they perceptibly support the flex characteristics, and with it, the fork's action. SWINGARM Designed using the latest in calculation and simulation software, the design and wall thickness of the cast aluminum swingarm have been optimized for minimum weight at optimum stiffness and precisely defined flexibility provides perfect stability at minimum weight. For 2014, the engineers have revised the chain guide to increase reliability while lowering the weight. SUSPENSION/DAMPING The rear monoshock as well as the 48mm upside-down front fork by WP Suspension guarantee the best response and damping characteristics. In 2014, the fork has more reserves against bottoming out thanks to their optimized setting. Of course, compression and rebound damping can be adjusted to the track conditions and the rider's preferences with a twist of the wrist - the rear monoshock even has separate high and low speed adjustments. TRANSMISSION The 5-speed gear box has been adapted to the 350 SX-F's engine characterisitics and is distinguished by easy and precise shifting. CLUTCH The highly compact CSS (Coil Spring Steel) cltuch uses a wear-free steel basket and eight clutch plates which are extremely heat resistant due to their steel carrier discs. The Brembo hydraulic system with its new master cylinder provides easy and precise modulation. ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS) In combination with the revolutionary injector position as developed by KTM, the Keihin Engine Management System, with electronic fuel injection and 44mm throttle body provides the engine with a spontaneous response and maximum performance. For 2014, the wiring harness of the 350 SX-F has been further simplified and even higher quality wires and connectors are used. In order to protect them against pressure washers, many connectors are now enclosed in new rubber boots. With an optional map-select switch from the KTM PowerParts program, EMS continues to allow selecting different engine characteristics.
