Features May Include: ENGINE The 350cc 4-stroke engine with a state-of-the-art electronic fuel injection offers a very wide power band and is distinguished by a dynamic but easy to control power delivery. DDS CLUTCH The one-piece basket of the DDS clutch (damped diaphragm steel) is machined from solid high-tensile steel in one solid part together with the primary drive gear. This process guarantees unbeatable reliability and, together with the thin steel linings, contributes to the narrow engine width due to a compact rivet-less design. The diaphragm spring makes it possible to implement an additional rubber damping system inside the clutch hub, ensuring reliability for the transmission and excellent traction. Finally, the hydraulic clutch mechanism by Brembo in conjunction with the diaphragm spring provides a very light clutch operation and controllable modulation. ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS) The Engine Management System by Keihin with electronic fuel injection and a 42mm throttle body ensures a spontaneous response and maximum engine performance. GENERATOR The 350 EXC-F engine is equipped with a 196 W AC generator with integrated starter freewheel. The generator provides sufficient energy for the fuel injection, lighting and other electrical loads. Compared to the 350 SX-F, the oil-cooled rotor has a larger diameter with a bigger flywheel mass and requires a larger ignition cover. HANDLEBAR All EXC models are fitted with the super strong, tapered Neken handlebar made of high tensile strength aluminum alloy. The proven standard KTM mount allows to fix the handlebar in four different positions. Hand guards made of a 2-component polymer ensure durability and effective hand protection. AIRBOX The air filter can be quickly replaced without the use of any tools, thanks to an ingenious airbox design guarantees optimum filter protection from flying dirt while creating maximum airflow for high performance. Since Tony Cairoli s first win in the 2010 MX1 World Championship, his first year as a KTM factory rider on the 350 SX-F, the Red Bull athlete from Sicily has dominated the class with five consecutive world championships at the top tier of motocross aboard this nimble, but powerful bike including many, many race wins. The bike itself comprises of almost as much power as a 450, but with the agility of a 250 so the basic idea is easily summarized, and has been a concept with success from the start. Features May Include: ENGINE The new DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) engine of the 350 SX-F features a completely new construction in order to make it even more compact and powerful than before. Fitted with the latest electronic fuel injection system and electric starter, it has a very wide usable speed range, high performance and incredibly efficient rideability. The new design made the engine 20 mm shorter than previously, while reducing the weight by 1 kg to only 27.2 kg. CYLINDER AND PISTON In the redesigned and shorter cylinder, with a bore of 88 mm, works a weight reduced forged bridged box-type piston made by CP. Its new piston crown geometry is adapted to the new high-compression combustion chamber and stands out with its extra rigid structure, combined with a low weight. The compression ratio is at 14:1. Thanks to the low oscillating masses, the engine offers extremely lively characteristics. TRANSMISSION The new engine is fitted with an all-new and weight reduced, five-speed gearbox. It features the same gear ratio as the previous model, but has wider gear sprockets, featuring a special surface treatment on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears for improved reliability. One of the new and special features on the bike is an advanced NO-DIRT gear lever design, which prevents dirt from blocking the joint of the lever and guarantees a safe activation of the transmission. MONOSHOCK The new generation of monoshock made by WP Suspension has been developed for the new SX models in conjunction with the new frame and swingarm architecture, including the reworked linkage system and the new WP forks. The linkage system has also been reworked with a revised geometry and longer pull rods, which was tested last season in most of the KTM factory bikes. Toni Cairoli clearly has complete control of this class with his 350 SX-F and he loves this ingenious concept of low weight, playful handling and rev-oriented engine characteristics. A unique recipe for success, from which professionals benefit just as much as amateurs. Features May Include: Frame The modern frame design of the SX models, built from lightweight, high strength, chrome-molybdenum steel section tubes, combines maximum longitudinal stiffness with optimum torsional stiffness. A forged and milled cross-peice connects the two frame halves with the connecting rod of the linkage on the 2015 SX frame. Omission of the weld seams leads to very precise manufacturing tolerances and it saves another 60 grams of weight. Linkage / Shock Absorber The revamped damping system for MY 2015 features a new linkage with optimized geometry. The flatter progression with a higher initial rate ensures greater stability and lowers the rear end. In addition, the new design saves another 40 grams of weight. The fully adjustable WP 5018 shock absorber has been completely retuned to suit the new linkage. Fork The fully adjustable upside-down fork from WP Suspension has been perfectly tuned to the new rear wheel damping system and the new 22 mm front axle (formerly 26 mm) for MY 2015. The new axle provides a better feel for the front wheel and also saves a further 40 grams. The new fork stubs now feature an offset of 33 mm instead of 35 mm, which together with increased trail deliver greater ride stability. Furthermore, they accommodate newly developed, 50 gram lighter fork protectors. Triple Clamps High quality, CNC-machined triple clamps have long since been standard equipment at KTM. They ensure precise handling and provide a perceptible boost to the flexing characteristics and hence the responsiveness of the telescopic fork. The new O-ring carrier for the lower steering head bearing, a revised shaft tube and the new steering head bolt save another 40 grams. Wheels The wheels fitted for MY 2015 feature black coated, high-end Excel rims with lightweight, CNC-machined hubs and spokes with lightweight aluminium nipples, allowing highest levels of stability to be achieved, while keeping weight to a minimum.
