Features May Include: OPTIMIZED ENGINE The engine has a redesigned reed valve housing featuring Boyesen high-performance reeds. Thanks to the innovations, performance has been optimized and responsiveness improved. Ignition curve and cylinder head have been optimized and the carburetor setting adjusted. The new developments make the 300 XC even more rideable. CYLINDER HEAD A new cylinder head with optimized combustion chamber makes its debut in MY 2014, delivering more effective combustion and above all better responsiveness in the partial load range. This results in better power development and optimized rideability. FRAME The state-of-the-art frame design made of lightweight, high-strength chromoly steel sections combines maximum longitudinal stiffness with optimum torsional rigidity. It guarantees easy handling and precise cornering, but also outstanding stability. SWINGARM The cast aluminum swingarm has been developed with state-of-the-art calculation and simulation software and constructed, in terms of design and wall thickness, for minimum weight with optimum stiffness and precisely defined flexibility. For the 2014 model year, our engineers have revised the chainguide for the benefit of higher functional reliability, while simultaneously reducing the weight. SUPERIOR SUSPENSION SETTINGS For 2014, all XC models are fitted with a newly developed 48mm 4CS Closed Cartridge fork featuring the patented 4-Chamber-System. The sophisticated design provides very constant and sensitive damping characteristics and an adjustable end progression. The new hand click adjuster system is now accessible on top of the fork, rebound on the right hand side, compression on the left. The fork is fitted with improved seal rings made by SKF and high performance fork oil (SAE 4). Compared to the predecessor, the new 4CS fork is lighter , easier to maintain and has been completely valved to match the shock for XC racing. TRIPLE CLAMPS The lower triple clamp has been modified for optimum attachment of the new front fender. Thanks to its new contour and attachment with two bolts from the front and two from below, the new fender boasts significantly higher stability. WHEELS The wheels use lightweight, CNC-machined hubs, high-end rims and spokes coated in black with lightweight aluminum nipples to achieve maximum stability at minimum weight. There is no better power-to-weight ratio on the market in a standard bike. The compact 2-stroke engine offers the strongest performance money can currently buy. A perfectly tuned exhaust control ensures a manageable power delivery, while the 6-speed gear box, specially geared for enduros, has always the right gear ratio on offer. With its enhanced cylinder head and new reed valve, the new 300 XC-W is better than ever. Frame The XC-W s chassis is second to none and for 2015 the bikes will feature the striking Factory orange usually seen only on KTM s race team machines. Handlebar All XC-W models are fitted with the super strong, tapered Neken handlebar made of high tensile strength aluminum alloy. The proven standard KTM mount allows to fix the handlebar in four different positions. 2015 sees the introduction of hand guards made of a new 2-component polymer for more durability and effective hand protection. Wheels The XC-W s feature new high-quality black anodized Giant rims with black spokes, that are mated to CNC-machined hubs and lightweight silver aluminum nipples for maximum stability at minimum weight. The XC-W s feature new Dunlop GEOMAX AT81 tires. Speedometer A new MAE speedometer has been included on the MY 2015 s with a clean, minimalistic and integrated design. This includes the warning and indicator lights in a tidy, single unit with clear and more readily available information. Grips New, softer two-compound grips are used on MY 2015 XC-W models for increased comfort and less stress on the rider s hands. Bodywork The KTM designer's focus was to achieve complete ergonomic harmony between rider and bike for a more stable ride and effortless movement on the bike. Adding to the improvements is a high-quality seat foam core to maximize comfort and durability. With the new front fender, the designers omitted ribbing on the inside to reduce mud and dirt buildup while increasing rigidity over the previous component by 50%.
