2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 Pearl White/Rapid Red, Very Clean Rapid red and pearl R1, engine is tight> VERY FAST! Cross plane motor design. 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 Pearl White/Rapid Red Key Features In the supersport liter class, there s always lots of talk about power. You expect that. What you wouldn t have expected until now is a radically superior way to deliver that power. Introducing the 2009 YZF-R1, the first ever production motorcycle with a crossplane crankshaft. Crossplane technology, first pioneered in MotoGP racing with the M1, puts each connecting rod 90° from the next, with an uneven firing interval of 270°- 180°- 90°- 180°. This all but eliminates undesirable inertial crankshaft torque, which allows the engine s compression torque to build smoothly and provide a very linear power delivery out of the corners. It s a feeling that s simply unmatched, like having two engines in one: the low rpm torquey feel of a twin with the raw, high-rpm power of an inline 4. In fact, the new YZF-R1 is not a continuation of existing supersport development; it is breakthrough technology that represents a paradigm shift in both technology and performance. This next-generation R1 keeps all the technological superiorities developed for its predecessor: YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) is MotoGP inspired fly-by-wire technology used to deliver instant throttle response. YCC-I is Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake which is a variable intake system that broadens the spread of power. The fuel injection system provides optimum air/fuel mixtures for maximum power and smooth throttle response. The R1 features Yamaha D-MODE (or drive mode) with rider- selectable throttle control maps to program YCC-T performance characteristics for riding conditions. The standard map is designed for optimum overall performance. The A mode lets the rider enjoy sportier engine response in the low- to mid-speed range, and the B mode offers response that is somewhat less sharp response for riding situations that require especially sensitive throttle operation. Switching maps is as easy as pushing a button on the handlebar switch. Features & Benefits: Engine:Crossplane crankshaft technology proven in victory after victory on MotoGP machines provides a high-tech uneven firing interval. Unlike typical in-line-four engine design, where the two outer and two inner pistons move together in pairs with 180°intervals, the crossplane crankshaft has each connecting rod 90° from the next with a unique firing order of 270° 180° 90° 180°.This overcomes the inherent fluctuations in inertial torque during each engine revolution, and the accompanying peaky torque characteristics. Instead, compression torque continues to build, giving the rider more linear throttle response with awesome power and traction out of the corners. To maximize rider comfort as well as power

I didn't think I'd ever do this, but the time has come to sell my bike. I've owned everything from a Ducati 1198S, to a Ducati 999R and an April RSV4 Factory (and so many more), but this is hands down my favorite sport bike I've ever owned. My ONLY reason for selling it is that the money from the sale needs to go to the purchase of a new car for our family. The bike in question is a 2009 Yamaha R1 with the crossplane engine. It has 12XXX miles on it and has always been stored in a garage and properly maintained. There is NO damage on the bike whatsoever, not even a rock chip. It's never been wrecked or dropped either. As far as mods go, I've done quite a bit to it, so here's a list of what I can remember off the top of my head: - Ohlins TTX Shock (will include for an extra $700) - Graves smog block off plates - Akrapovic Evolution full system titanium / carbon fiber exhaust - Power Commander V - Power Commander Quick Shifter - Flash Tune - Dyno tuned by News @ 2 Wheel Dyno Works - Custom LED Integrated Taillight (w/ brake force strobes) - Zero Gravity Double Bubble Windscreen - 2012+ Front End Conversion (all parts were purchased brand new from the Yamaha dealer) - Superspox Stealth Sprockets (-1 in the front) - EK MVXZ Gold 530 Chain (chain and sprockets have 10 miles on them total) - Frame Sliders - Swingarm Sliders - Factory Solo Cowl - ASV Levers (Standard Length) As far as maintenance goes, the oil was changed 200 miles ago, the tires have around 85% tread left on them, and the chain and sprockets were replaced 10 miles ago. All the maintenance has been performed by me. This bike needs NOTHING whatsoever. It's pristine, it's flawless, and it has a clean Oregon title. If you want a well sorted R1 that really gets up and goes, this is the bike for you. The crossplane R1 is a bit numb from the factory due to the restrictive exhausts and the horrible, horrible factory tune. This thing has been completely opened up and it's like an entirely different machine. If you haven't ridden a crossplane R1 with a flash tune (and a dyno tune), then believe me when I say that you have NOT experienced a true R1. The bike currently has the stock shock on it, but if the buyer wants to give me an extra $700, I'll include a brand new Ohlins TTX shock (in the original box) setup for a 190 lb rider. If you don't want the shock, that's fine. I can easily sell it for $700 any day on the R1 Forum. I currently owe money on the bike loan still, but since it's financed through Unitus Credit Union, you just have to come into the bank with me, pay the bank, and they'll give you the title. Very, very easy, done it before numerous times. I'm asking $8000 FIRM for the bike. Look around and I honestly don't think you'll find a nicer crossplane R1 than this one. The exhaust alone was a whopping $3000! Not to mention all the other mods I've got on here are extremely tasteful, and exactly what you'd want to do to any R1 you picked up.
