I bought this WR250R brand new last year and after breaking it in put a Thumper Racing 3-ring big bore, balanced Hot Rods stroker crank, and a ported head on. A custom tune was developed using Dynojet Autotune and the bike runs amazing! If you're out there looking for KTM-like performance with Japanese reliability, this is your ride. Weighing in at less than 300lbs, this bike handles amazing offroad and with loads of power on tap coupled with a 6 speed gearbox, you can lug in 1st gear all day or pound out MILES of pavement at 80MPH all day. All the snatchiness of the stock EFI is gone, but otherwise rides exactly like with the addition of 40% additional power and torque. Really has to be ridden to understand how smooth and tractable the bike is now. This is the perfect TAT-style ride to pound out 1000 miles and not be limited whatsoever offroad. WR250Rs sell quickly as is and one as well-kitted and low mileage certainly will not last! Mileage will increase as I ride this bike regularly. It's too fun not to.
