Why don't you see many V-Star 1100's for sale? Because they are awesome bikes and their riders simply won't part with them! Go ahead, do an internet search. You won't find one, and if you do, it won't be anywhere near this price. This bike features classic cruiser styling. The gentle rumble of the exhaust is just enough to turn heads and the glistening chrome and classic styling keeps 'em staring 'till you're out of sight. (See bottom of ad for review from Cruiser magazine.)This bike won't last long. It's priced below the blue book value and below the average selling price of the same model from 2002. * 1908 original miles (one thousand nine hundred and eight - not a typo)* Shaft Drive, air-cooled V-Twin engine* 28" seat height - 5'5" man/woman can stand with both feet on ground, low center of gravity gives 6' + riders (like me) ample legroom, comfort and control.* Tank thoroughly cleaned and rust free - no liner required * Carbs and petcock cleaned and kitted* Carbs synced* New battery* New fuel filter and oil change* Polished and waxed and ready to runI may be too honest to sell a motorcycle. Things I want you to know: A) The owner of this bike recently passed away from cancer. I'm garaging the bike and helping the widow sell it. The motorcycle sat for 2.5 years, hence the amount of work I put into it to make sure it is road ready. I've put about 25 miles on the bike since the work and it is running extremely well. That mileage will go up the longer I have the bike. It is a joy to ride.B) It has been PNO (planned non-operation) - filed every year since Sept. 2012, but registration is clean and current and no forms or fees beyond regular title transfer and registration will be needed. C) The widow's name is not on the title, but she can legally sign it and the bill of sale. She will provide a completed DMV Reg5 form (DMV Affidavit for Transfer Without Probate) that you must take with you to the DMV to complete the title transfer. This is just a formality, but you may have to pay an additional $10 fee ($10 transfer fee to her name, $10 transfer fee from her name to yours). A DMV checklist for this type of sale will be provided - it lists the steps of the process and you will instantly be comfortable with the sale.D) Even though the bike has less than 2,000 miles on it, it is 8 years old and spent 2.5 years without any TLC. There are a few extremely minor blemishes and slight surface rust on some chrome mostly only noticeable up close and needs to be polished out. In all, it's condition is better than a daily rider, but less than a bike stored in a climate controlled time capsule.E) Like on every motorcycle ever ridden, the clear coat on the aluminum lower front forks is pitted.F) You will get the original owner's manual and I have the shop manual for this motorcycle on my computer. I can email it to you or put it on a disc or thumb-drive. Very handy to have if you want to turn your own wrench.G) If you plan to test ride, also plan to put full asking price in my hand before you get on the bike. Otherwise, I'll ride it for you, give you a ride (bring a helmet) or let you follow while I ride. Whatever works for you.Andy Cherney (Cruiser Mag.) 2007 Review: "Give me your poor, your vertically challenged, your power-hungry masses. Let them yearn for cruisers with clean lines and slinky paint jobs. They shall also demand fistfuls of stopping power, and a manageable handlebar instead of wheelbarrow grips. Gather them all and point them in the direction of Yamaha's V-Star 1100."You'd call it a middleweight at first blush. It's long and low, and not a bad-looking scoot at that. A narrowish bar and way-low seat height ensure comfort and confidence for those closer to the ground. The handling is light and responsive and the power is much beefier than you'd expect; even though it's an 1100, its low, crouched stance gives the illusion of a much smaller powerplant. The brakes are solid -- double discs up front with plenty of grab on the wheel and none of the usual brake fade. Requisitely smooth throttle response, good low-end grunt and a fairly comfortable (did we already say "low"?) seating position round out the basic goodies."Another thing that'll grab you is the price -- for 7800 bones, you're getting a solid middleweight you won't grow out of in a few years, and -- it shore is purty. Love it or hate it, that distinctive metalflake two-tone paint scheme will turn your retinas inside out. People notice these things."Such a deal! 1100cc of middleweight magic for less than eight grand. You can cruise in style without having to sacrifice your lavish gourmet dinners. Lemme jes dust off the ol' checkbook here and..."
