I bought this bike new off from the showroom floor in Bradenton Florida. This bike has been a labor of love taking me several years to find and put all the pieces together, with a lot of help from a few good friends. This isn't your fathers V-max. It has over forty two aftermarket parts and upgrades. There are well over $4500.00 invested in aftermarket accessories. The bike has over 45,000 miles and the maintenance has been meticulous. The majority on mileage is interstate traveling back and forth to work for the first three years. Due to time restraints and the purchase of an 09 Gen 2 V-Max this baby has not seen a lot of riding time since. I have started it regularly and ridden it for short periods of time so she doesn't feel neglected! She has a new filter, plugs, and oil. The paint is an electric blue with pearl in the clear coat which is why there are different hues in different light. The V-Boost has been pulled and it is running a full stage 7 jet kit with four K&N filters. This modification seriously made this an entirely new bike as far as the riding by the seat feeling. The exhaust is a unique HMF four into two upswept version with carbon fiber cans. The bike has been tuned and a member of the 120 plus horse power club on the Dyno owned by Tim Nash, the" V-Max Guru". If you are looking for a bike that turns heads, always gets instant recognition, is always a topic of conversation...and you don't have the time or patience to do all of this yourself here you go. This bike is awesome and I'm pretty upset I have to sell it. An unexpected move by the military forces me to offer you a good deal so I can get his out of my garage along with other things I'd rather not part with. I just bought it last month from a friend who is also a military move victim. He hardly ever rode it which is why it only has 10,000 miles on it despite being a 1998. This thing was always garaged and covered and is in excellent shape with the normal amount of little scuffs and dings you'd expect from a lightly used bike that is 17 years old. He had a full carburetor servicing done in 2010 and it starts right up and runs like a top. The shaft drive is awesome and it has more and smoother power than anything I've ever ridden. It comes with all the accessories pictured and I'll offer a jacket and helmet on top of the deal if you're interested. Let me know if you have questions.

Up for Grabs is a 1997 Yamaha V-MAX 1200 with ONLY 6K miles. This is a rare bike with extremely low miles. Similar bikes with 12K miles are selling for 6,500. This bike will go fast. This is the first year of the legendary V Max. They remained pretty much unchanged upto 2007. This bike is a California bike since new. In the past couple of months rebuilt front and rear brake calipers, clutch master, fuel pump and new battery, also changed the oil and filter. Runs really well with only 29,800 miles. In good conditoon for a daily rider. Tires are in good shape, starts up easily with no smoke, shifts through all the gears just fine, lights all work. Has Corbin seat and Kerker exhaust (chrome is flaky on the exhaust). This bike was the fastest in its day, its very quick, not for the inexpirienced rider. It will clock 0-60 MPH in 2.88 seconds and the quarter mile in under 11 seconds. The Vmax has just turned 30 years old since its introduction, this is your chance to buy a great piece of motorcycle history, only going to go up in value. Clean title in my name. 1985 Vmax (the fastest year for the 1200cc) 145 Hp . Nice stable well mannered good running easy to ride and very fast bike .I don't know the true milage as the speedometer was changed by a previous owner Who also didn't know.. Runs very good , Shifts fine (no issues),V Boost comes on at around 3000 rpm then watch out ,this bike is very fast . Everything works as it should . New tires and Gel battery last year , probably less than 200 miles on them . Has a flat drivers seat ( makes the seat low so its easy to sit flatfooted at a stop,) with a removable drivers backrest so you can sit up or lean back and use the backrest . fuel and oil pressure gauges speedo ,water temp ,volts , fog lights and very loud horns . Tach ,oil press and speedometer on forks . The wife and I use to like riding around with friends but since we moved we just don't use it much so its time for it to go. Clear title in my name .Some pics show a lot of dust (was doing body work on a different project) .Advertised locally so I reserve the right to end the auction upon sale if the reserve has not been met . This bike is in near perfect condition and you can see in the pics that it has been well taken care of never seen the rain and garage kept and believe me it runs as good as it looks it will absolutely scare you to death I had big plans for it and started buying polished aluminum parts for it until I decided it was just to powerful and violent. This particular bike is equipped with a outlaw V boost which this means you have a switch that you can set for the fear to kick in at 3000rpm or 6000rpm I have never rode anything like it!! I really don't have anything else to say but whoever buys it not only is getting a great bike they are getting a collectors item because these are a very sought after bike because 1985 was the fastest year made even insurance companies wouldn't carry them.

This is been an AWESOME motorcycle. This a 1200 Yamaha V-max. Very powerful machine. There is a 4 Into 1 KURKER exhaust on it & sounds like a small block Chevy. This is without doubt the nicest Yamaha Vmax 1200 available today in new condition with less than 3K miles and a new set of Metzler tires that were added due to age, not tread wear. The bike is very fast (V-boost system is simply amazing). The oil/filter were just changed and a 200 point inspection performed by the Yamaha dealer where I purchased the bike. Accessories include Cobra after market exhaust (sound great), leather saddle bags and front storage bag, soft top bag, Vmax wind screen, Grip Puppies, highway pegs, center stand (aids with bike maintenance) and more. I am an older rider and own three bikes. It is time to get down to one.

1985 Yamaha V Max 1200 I bought this bike 5 years ago, it has been sitting ever since. I have never checked it out, so I don't know what all it needs, not running!!! It is being sold AS-IS, with a clear Colorado title. I know it needs fluids, some rubber parts (hoses and some carb boots) and a battery. Throttle cable is frozen. It has a strange looking headlight on it. I do not have the original, but I do have the rear fender and tailight.
