2009 Yamaha Royal Star Venture S, V.I.N. JYAVP04E39A015537, current mileage 17687, sale by second owner. (A note - Ebay may not permit me to directly hyperlink to YouTube and to KBB.com - that's their prerogative, I guess, although I do think that it would help both the buyer and the seller if they permitted this. If the links don't work, cut and paste the site addresses into your browser.) This super-comfortable, powerful and very dependable touring machine is being sold because its owner (me) is an elderly gentleman who is beginning to have issues with upper body strength and with balance problems. Rather than risk dumping this beautiful machine I am going to be moving on to three-wheeled transportation. (I have a Suzuki V-Strom DL1000 on which I'm going to put a sidecar.) This bike is a beautiful gold-tone metal flake color with black accents. I emphasize that this is a BIG, HEAVY bike – weight is close to 900 pounds and it is considered to be top heavy, so unless you are a large person with decent upper body strength I don't recommend you consider it. The previous owner scuffed it once against a pillar in a parking garage and sanded and painted over the scuff, which can be seen on the passenger side of the fairing. That is the only, small, cosmetic issue for this bike. (Touch-up paint is included.) I've posted a walkaround of this motorcycle on YouTube, which you may see here: http://youtu.be/jBRj-WOJBLQ This description is from Yamaha Motorcycle's website: “The Venture S is a super-smooth 1298cc V-four liquid-cooled powerplant wrapped in a steel frame, built to carry two and plenty of gear in ultimate comfort. When it comes to seeing North America in detail, there's no better way to do it than by Venture. “This fully loaded luxury touring machine comes with everything serious riders need, including a four-speaker sound system, a CB radio, intercom system, and AM/FM radio with MP3 or similar aux input, combined with a powerful and smooth V-four engine and front end chrome accents. “Intercom.” - Plug-in headsets included. “ There’s plenty of lockable storage in the form of a 15-gallon trunk and a pair of color-matched 9.3-gallon sidebags; that’s 33.6 gallons total. “Ergonomically designed bucket-type seats with plush, wraparound passenger backrest for unbeatable long-range comfort. “The Royal Star Venture S gets chrome accents to the front end.” I have made some additions to this beauty which are detailed at the end of the listing. The following specifications are from Yamaha Motorcycle's website and may not perfectly reflect this machine, but are believed by me to be accurate: Specifications Engine: Type 79-cubic-inch (1294cc) liquid-cooled 70° V-four; DOHC, 4 valves/cylinder Bore x Stroke 79mm x 66mm Compression Ratio 10.0:1 Fuel Delivery 4) 32mm Mikuni® CV carburetors Ignition TCI: Transistor Controlled Ignition Transmission 5-speed, wide-ratio w/5th-gear overdrive; hydraulic clutch Final Drive Shaft Chassis: Suspension / Front Telescopic fork; air-assist, 5.5-in travel Suspension / Rear Single shock; air-assist, 4.1-in travel Brakes / Front Dual hydraulic disc, 298mm Brakes / Rear Hydraulic disc, 320mm Tires / Front 150/80-16 71H Tires / Rear 150/90B15M/C 74H Wheels 7-spoke cast Dimensions: Length 104.5 in Width 35.4 in Height 61.6 in Seat Height 29.5 in Wheelbase 67.1 in Fuel Capacity 6.1 gal Wet Weight 869 lb Farkles (most of these can be seen in the photos): Vented windshield from Clearviewshields.com – really helps in the summer! Headlight modulator Backoff Brake light flasher Fresh tires, front and rear Fresh oil and filter Fresh coolant and brake fluids Fresh final drive lubricant Serviced at Ronnie's of Adams Stored winter with Battery Tender Always stored indoors Registered, titled, inspected and ready to go Bike is garaged and under tarp When empty, gas tank filled with non-ethanol gas, run for a while, topped off with non-ethanol gas and fuel stabilizer added Battery is on Battery Tender If you are at all comfortable muscling a big, heavy bike at slow speeds, and love stable, powerful touring at road speeds, with lots of comfort features for you and your passenger, you are going to love this bike. I've taken it on long hauls – Indiana to Western Massachusetts, Western Massachusetts to Chisasibi, Quebec and back, Western Massachusetts to Columbus, Ohio and back – and it has performed faultlessly, tirelessly. It is a wonderful touring machine. Per Kelley Blue Book of Motorcycle Values this bike retails at $10,855 (without farkles) – a href="http://www.kbb.com/motorcycles/yamaha/royal-star-venture-s/2009-yamaha-royal-star-venture-s/suggestedretailvalue/ and so I think that $9,000.00 is more than fair as it is not cosmetically perfect. There are a couple of scuffs – on a side case and on the right front fairing, which you may be able to see in the photos. However, you won't find a better touring bike at this price. I will deliver this bike within 100 miles of my home. Depending on the weather I'll drive it to you (and incur the resulting increase in mileage). In inclement weather I'll trailer it. Beyond that, bring your plate! The bike is titled, registered and insured. I will consider offers on this bike.
